Bama fan living in Florida it seems. She is the very definition of a bully. Life must be hard being this bright.

Has to be watched on youtube.

TLDW: Bully that thinks she is smarter than everyone else. Refuses to hand over license. Is actually incorrect on everything she claims as law, except her 5th amendment right, which she ignores throughout. Spoiler at the end: Not her first visit to jail.

My neighbor was considering a career in law enforcement but after seeing the shite they have to put up with, he has decided to be a test patient for dental students when they are doing their root canal finals.

Depending on where you work makes a big difference on stress level but across the board if I was getting into being a peace officer knowing what I know it would be a hard pass for me.

Have the opportunity to go back to work and my reply is always...not naw BUT HELL NAW TO THE NAW NAW!!!!!!!!

There are always idiots that think they know the law, but don't.

In many states you are only required to display your DL, however FL isn't one of those states. You have to physically hand it to them there.

She displayed, which is all that is required by Florida law.

Wrong, was arrested for obstruction. She displayed license as required, and stepped out of vehicle when asked. There was no obstruction. Cop probably lied about stop sign based on his actions during this stop.

Cop could have ran her info and ticketed her for the alleged traffic violation but decided to escalate the stop due to his bruised ego.

There are very few certainties in life. First, there are death and taxes. Then, it is 100% certain that anyone who says during a traffic stop, “I know my rights!" doesn’t have the first f*cking clue what their “rights“ are.

Under Florida law (Section 322.15), drivers must carry their driver’s license (DL) at all times while operating a motor vehicle and immediately present or hand it over when requested by law enforcement. The license must be fully legible, with no part altered or defaced. Failure to comply can result in a noncriminal traffic infraction.

Key Aspects of Florida DL Display Law:

Physical Possession: The license must be in your immediate possession, not just available to be shown later.

Handing Over the License: Under Florida law, you are required to hand the physical license to the officer, not just show it through a window.

Failure to Display: If a driver cannot or will not display their license, an officer may require them to submit fingerprints on a citation.

Legibility: The license must be legible, with no portion faded, altered, or defaced.

Incorrect, in FL you must present or submit, i.e. give it to them.

Where is the obstruction?

Not to mention it is done for the safety of the officer. If you are having to write down information in fromt the vehicle you have pulled over, you are not paying full attention to what is happening inside the vehicle. Especially dangerous when there are multiple passengers.

Go do the work and learn the SOP and the reasoning behind them and you will then understand why things are done the way they are.

Dont be a shithouse lawyer.

two different meanings is the way I read this. Present can mean to display or show.

How about if you try it out and report back?

Be sure you film it too.

Apparently nowhere since the case went nowhere and wasn't prosecuted.
