than anyone on this forum knows. Whoever he starts at 1st, catcher, or 2nd, is in the best interest of LSU Baseball. Yes, from your lazyboy you might think it is obvious but 'we don't know'. Sit back and enjoy the game!
Before you DV anything. I am in agreement that it is UGLY and not at the level we expect from LSU Baseball.

Who knew coaches were infallible? I thought the only perfect person got crucified around 2000 years ago.

Yeah I trust Jay for sure but that doesn't mean he can't ever be wrong. He's sure as hell gonna be right more than anyone on this board when it comes to baseball, but I guarantee you if you ask him if he ever makes the wrong choice he will know with certainty that he does.

He is not saying that JJ is perfect, just that he knows more than little league coaches

Nobody questioning Johnsons Ability as a Head Coach. He is probably the best in the Country. At the same time you cannot say that He Has Not Made some mistakes and made some Bad Decisions. But, as they say "Thats Baseball".

Something to keep in mind- there are plenty of times when we think he’s wrong when he ends up being right because he can see what’s happening in practice and knows his players at a level we don’t. Saying Cade Arambide was one of the best players on the team looks a little more accurate after this weekend, at least as a DH.
How many times has he stuck with a guy when we would have given up on them and ended up being right? Several times, those players have gone on to be critical parts of his title teams. Shores last year is a great example.
Yorke looks like an exception, but it would be nice if someone else would step up and take ownership of first. Pearson was far worse than Yorke when he got a shot. Serna looked very unsure and didn’t stretch for outs. Yamin probably needs more time over there to see if he can handle it. Someone is going to have to play well enough to take it from him given an opportunity.

I take comfort in knowing that he and the staff work their asses off in preparation for every opponent. They have a plan for every matchup and contingency plans in the event of something unforeseen or if the game takes a turn they didn’t expect. That’s pretty much all you can ask for from a baseball coaching staff. Jay is hardly ever making decisions in the spur of the moment or off of emotion

No doubt! However, when it comes to a certain player(s)… most armchair coaches can spot someone struggling to the point of consideration for replacement. That said, the personal attacks are moronic and show a lack of humanity that is disgraceful and unnecessary!

He has dementia or something?

He did fine yesterday. Mcneese may have just been a bad night. But if he goes to 1st then that means Carraway has to step up.

That's extremely correctable. It seemed like he's never practiced there. No reason to think he can't learn it if given some time over there.

Agreed. It's not a super difficult position to be average at. I'm not asking for Jared Jones level defense especially if you can hit. But you do need to be able to pick balls out of the dirt from 2nd bc Dardar throws 70% of double play balls in the dirt

No one here thinks he knows more than JJ. It doesn’t absolve him of critique or message board banter.

Its called the rant for a reason. I dont comment on most of the conversations on this board but people post what they feel. You did.

I know but this the," Tiger Rant". It's not the," Tiger Sensible Discussion ".
Plus I'm convinced that there is a large portion of posters with the lsu logo that aren't lsu fans.

If Brent Jennings can teach Chris Pratt to play 1B for Brad Pitt and his A's, then Pearson can learn too for the Tigers

redfish99's "Idiotic take" is an idiotic take...

Being forgetful is a weird flex but ok.

i trust the process
Jay usually gives guys a lot of opportunity to get right before making a switch unless someone is coming on super hot behind them.
Usually it pans out.
Baseball is a numbers game. a 15 game slump in College feels like an eternity but it’s a blip in the pros. Guys go in and out of those all the time.
