Rouses (Drusilla) was something this morning

Drove over to snag some boiled crawfish for the day. Was greeted by a person dressed as Jesus leaving the store. When checking out, another person walked in as the Easter Bunny.
Store was packed more than I thought it would be. Everyone seemed to be in a happy mood. Easter Sunday will do that.
Happy Easter, everyone!

I hate going to that one. Out of every Rouse’s the Drusilla one is by far the worst.
The store itself is rundown,
they are always out of everything, food is routinely spoiled, and the employees/management don’t care.
They still have white stickers covering “Leblanc’s” name on everything. Rouse’s bought that location 10 years ago and they still just have stickers fo the name change. :smh:

I wish they’d buy the family dollar or whatever is nextdoor and expand it to a normal-sized Rouses.

Know what's something every morning? That Family Dollar in the Drusilla shopping center.

I started going to the new one on Florida since I live in between the two.

That would be a great thing for them to do. This store definitely needs a complete overhaul in design and function. Their food bar is nothing at all like all the other Rouses.
They run completely out of everything buffet wise, and shut down the fresh food area right when everyone would be coming in after work looking for something hot or easy to heat up for dinner. They could sell the hell out of fried chicken that time of night, but I believe they only fry it at lunch there.
When Leblanc's sold out to them, everything was running like a Swiss watch, but it didn't take long to screw it up, and now it's terrible

Ah, I remember the days when Drusilla had a TG&Y, Hopper’s, Radio Shack, Hi Nabor, Johnny’s Pizza, and Party City. The good ol’ days.

Was Johnny’s Pizza next to the Party City? Don’t remember that one.
They were supposed to build a “Jerry Lewis Theater” in there, too. Nothing ever came from it. Built one at LSU University Mall. Didn’t last long.

I was pretty young, but I seem to recall it being in its own building closer to the highway. It’s been about 7-8 years since I last went past Drusilla, and then the building was still there but do not recall what it is now. It was to the right of the gas station when you stopped after getting off of the interstate. I’m about 87.65% sure Johnny’s was at Drusilla.
I grew up in Jefferson Terrace back in the 80’s and 90’s so there were regular stops at Drusilla for the family. My old man loved that Radio Shack.
Was there a Fast Track there at one time too? I’m trying to remember if it was there or elsewhere. And a Brew Bachers too? Seems like a thousand years ago.

Hi Nabor
The plate lunches at Drusilla Hi Nabor were my go-to for years. The store was kind of run down and all, but I loved that place so much. Need to get to one of the other locations soon and see if it’s the same as the old days.

Fast Track was in its own building. I LOVED those Bon Temps burgers, or whatever they were called. The hot ones. It was also a Dairy Queen, lol.
Brewbachers faces Drusilla Seafood.
I loved the hell out of Radio Shack. Drooled over many an electronic item.

It was horrible when it was a Hi Nabor. I think that store is why I hate Hi Nabor.

Yes. It was on the Drusilla side of the parking lot.
ETA: This was a Dr. Hill chain. Every location was busy. I guess he finally retired in the mid 90's. RIP

Yes, I wish they would go the other way and take all of drusilla imports space. If they did it right they could up grade their hot foods by 1000% and probably increase catering orders. They are dead smack in the middle of everything.

I don't think it was a Party City...wasn't it a mom and pop party store?
ETA Party Pardise, they also had costume rentals.

That location is by far the worst rouses I’ve ever seen. There’s either people banging in their cars or ODing by the entrance.
