A few years ago some patrons were almost killed by falling trees at Augusta National

during one of the practice rounds.
The National is regularly transplanting mature trees onto the property every year. Not a single journalist asked the club if the trees that fell and almost killed multiple people were transplants that hadn’t taken root.
Imagine a huge light pole falling over at a football stadium and almost killing a bunch of people and no one asking any questions about it

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will not be in attendance this week. In fact, I will continue to boycott any future tournaments.*
*(Unless my ticket lottery luck changes, then I will gladly attend, even if it’s only a dangerous practice round and I have to dodge falling trees.)

Its that time of year again where everyone pretends there are no other courses with flowers or trees.

I was on the property that day. It was windy as shite and not surprising some trees fell.
The people that scurried out of the way are family members of a buddy of mine who is a volunteer there (scorer) and he said that ANGC basically made sure they were okay and that was it.
Not even a free pimento sandwich for the near death experience...
Crazily, going back the next day, you couldn't even really tell that the trees were there the day before. They do such a good job with that.

It definitely happened during the second round of the actual tournament as well.

“Holy smokes.” I probably would have dropped an F bomb on the air and been escorted off the property.

Next day? buddy, a couple of hours later you would have thought that shite was like that from jump street. Perfect grass was in place of where the tree was. crazy how fast they worked to clear that shite out.

I'm sure, but's that's the next time I saw the area. We left early that day because the weather sucked so bad.

For a course that regularly installs mature trees, is it fair to ask if trees that fell and almost crushed people were recently transplanted to that location? Especially considering that has never happened before during the Masters to the best of my knowledge.
This thread isn’t really a slight against AGNC, it is more an attack on journalists.

Intense. And not windy.
The worst part of that video is the woman announcer.

I was taking a shot at the course and how people go nuts over it... not a shot at your post. In a way, I actually was agreeing with you.

Also, those bank of trees between 16/17 have been there for ages, so I do not believe any of those were transplanted.

So was I, and all over the course. It didn’t seem that windy when I was there (but I did leave before this happened).

Show me one that compares in beauty and history and I promise I’ll stop.

The Masters is the most overrated sports event in sports.
