Post here I’ve been asked from my step kids about the draft

I served during Iraq and Afghanistan and try to explain there’s a lot to happen before a draft. No one on any side wants kids who don’t want to serve going to war. My advice if your that worried join the coast guard (my service 2000-2012). I do wish Trump and his team would come out a say no draft. People actually believe that’s a real possibility.

Chances are high that your step nerds and other kids aren’t even qualified for military service. Even lower they’d ever be drafted and even much lower that they’re in a combat role seeing combat.

Dems say this every time a Republican is in office. That the draft is going to be instituted again. It's never happened, and never will. They have been saying it since Reagan.

I worked at a recruiting HQ during Desert Storm, none of the branches want the draft. The quote was, We’d rather go short, than go stupid.

We had a terrorist attack that hit NYC and the Pentagon and didn't institute the draft.
We aren't going to do it to lob missiles at Iran for 100 days.
