According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services data, Oracle filed for roughly 3,126 petitions to employ H-1B workers in fiscal years 2025 and 2026.

Amazon, which in January said it would axe 16,000 corporate employees, has filed for some 2,675 H-1B petitions during the same two-year fiscal period.

quote:

One user on the app Blind, an anonymous forum for verified employees, called the H-1B petitions a “slap in our face.”

“If this doesn’t make you angry, maybe you need to read some heartfelt posts on LinkedIn from Oracle employees who are US citizens and have been laid off after working at Oracle for years,” the user wrote.

Maybe one day Americas will stop falling for the left vs right stuff and start fighting the class warfare being waged.

Oracle whacked around 600 employees in KC, the local news attributed some of the layoffs to AI

When I saw the oracle news my guess was in a week they would ask for like 10k H1Bs.

I’m at the point where the H1Bs are on the same level as the violent criminal illegals. They both need to be gone swiftly and harsh punishment should happen to the importers. That would be true America first.

Sadly Trump and Vance aren’t going to end H1B despite it harming all levels of American workers

Never were.
I know someone who just got laid off by Meta, but she was there long enough that she no longer cares.

I'm curious how many H1Bs were 2025 and how many were 2026...

If more people would realize the harm H1Bs are doing to their salaries we would have full scale riots going on

There are 2 advantages for companies: First, these foreigners are cheaper. Second, they are easier to control and keep on the plantation. Can’t have Americans leaving for better jobs. It’s astonishing to me that we allow this.

Yep cheaper and they aren’t going to jump to other companies but that’s mainly because once you get past them being cheap it’s easy to see that they suck at their jobs.

Any company using India or H1Bs has a massive massive drop in the quality of work that happens.

Yep. Working class Americans are treated like disposable farm animals and replaced on a whim with foreign labor to shave a few dollars from payroll.

I posted a thread a few months ago highlighting the quality in programming competency from Americans, Chinese, and Indians and it's a pretty big gap with Americans being on top

It stretches all fields would be my guess if someone did a study. I’ve seen it first hand at work, the American IT people do a much better job than anyone here on a H1B.

Also from personal experience being told to use an India team because they are cheap just led to shite work that had to keep being redone. While American interns and first year staff produced better work than managers in India.

Our government and institutions are entirely hostile to normal working middle - upper middle class people. It is bleak.

100 percent and there really is nothing that will stop it, other than eventually we might see a lot of people angry and uncomfortable enough that shite hits the fan.

Our federal government is compromised completely by foreign nations money rather that be Israel who has almost all the right and most of the left, China or India. If the country isn’t directly paying them, they are getting benefits from it.

It’s a both sides issue, once someone is elected they are paid off and then enjoy the benefits.

The Administration needs to put the skids on this.
