Assuming the Supreme Court doesn’t overturn birthright citizenship… one potential way to counteract this could be limiting visa to women who are pregnant. The executive has pretty broad powers with visa immigration and could really halt this whole scheme

Should have to be declared upon entering.

Birthright citizenship tourism isn’t the problem.

It’s our pregnancy rates (or lack thereof).

Wells Fargo has numbers to hit and they can’t do that on the backs of the ever-diminishing native couples and their babies.

You'd have to ban every woman more than 23 weeks pregnant (viability) from entering, and where are we going to get that information from? Who verifies it? Hard no, never happening, and shouldn't happen.

quote:

In early 2020, the U.S. State Department (DOS) issued a major amendment to its regulations, restricting the ability of pregnant women to obtain B-2 tourist visas for travel to the United States. The idea was to prevent “birth tourism,” or the practice of coming to the U.S. to deliver one’s child so that the child can automatically obtain U.S. citizenship. (For related information, see Will Having U.S. Citizen Children Prevent Deportation of Undocumented Immigrant?.)

The DOS rule did not affect people who were in the process of seeking lawful permanent residence in the United States (a “green card”) or any other kind of temporary ("nonimmigrant") visa, such as an F-1 academic or M-1 vocational student visa or H-1B work visa. The rule also did not apply to people coming to the United States with visas they previously obtained or on the Visa Waiver Program (VWP).

However, women applying for B-2 visas who will give birth during the period of time their tourist visa is valid are presumed by the DOS to be visiting the United States for the purpose of obtaining U.S. citizenship for the child. To overcome this presumption, visitors have had to show another valid reason for visiting the United States or that they do not intend to give birth in the United States so that the child will obtain citizenship. If you have evidence of another reason for visiting the U.S. or proof you will return before your child is born, bring it to your visa interview.

They can always claim that they didn't know.

Oh no, that's like, so bad or something.

The alternative is the USSC ruling the correct way.

Either way this is a problem that needs to be solved.

Uh, us? Who else? Their doctors?

Tourist pays for the test, if the US Dr gets it wrong they're subject to a large fine.

I said before in another OP make them sign an oath that they are not pregnant and advise that if untruthful tjere is a mandatory minimum 15 year prison sentence

At least that will cut out the Chinese trade

As for Mexicans ...

Q: Are you entering the US for the purpose of overthrowing the US government?

A: Not main purpose of trip.

Absolutely, or sign a waiver of birthright possibility. If not, not entry

On 2nd thought, make all females sign waiver.

You aren't allowed to travel on a passport that is going to expire within the next 6 months.

If we can have rules that asinine, then why not decline any women entering with a foreign passport and is showing a baby bump?

They can always claim they didn't know they were pregnant, and there's no way to prove otherwise.

The most extreme thing we can do is limit tourist visas from young women from certain countries. It's the only foolproof method.

We'd have to ultrasound every young woman who wants to enter the US.

It's not practical.

The alternative is a million+ in freebees for the kid and the family.

K-12 education alone is around 250k if you're getting school lunches.

I agree with you. I was criticizing my own dumb post about ultrasounds.

The blood test is much cheaper and more practical.

Damn y’all. Are foreign women too stupid to piss on a stick? You get the result in a minute. If it turns whatever color is preggo, they can turn their arse around and get back on the plane.
