WBB operating loss $7-8m; Baseball $921k, but turning the corner to breaking even.

When Mulkey retires at least LSU won’t be paying a WBB coach $3.35m a year.
Need the old bag to hang it up and hire someone on the “cheap” for $850,000.
Then divert that money to the Baseball program.

Despite massive success and record-breaking attendance, the LSU women's basketball program operates with an annual deficit of roughly $8 million, driven by high operating expenses, including coaching salaries. While revenue has grown under coach Kim Mulkey, the program consistently spends more than it generates, often ranking among the highest-losing sports at the school

LSU men's baseball operated at a loss of $921,607 for the 2025 fiscal year (covering July 2024 to June 2025).
While the program is one of the most successful and well-supported on campus, it typically fluctuates between minor profits and moderate deficits due to high operating costs.
The Daily Advertiser The Daily Advertiser +3 Financial Performance (FY 2025) Total Revenue: $10,066,800 Total Expenses: $10,988,407 Net Operating Loss: $921,607 X X +1
Trend Analysis The program's financial standing has improved recently, following a much larger $1,968,331 deficit in the 2024 fiscal year. Despite the recent losses, baseball remains one of LSU's "big three" revenue-generating sports alongside football and basketball, with contributions to the program seeing recent increases

Spending more money on it will probably just create a larger deficit.

Got to love burning $7-8m a year on something that no one wants to watch. Despite the media narrative to the contrary no one- in enough numbers- gives a shite about.
Women’s sports being forced down the throats of sports viewers is the biggest DEI program going.
It’s an awful product.
Here’s a deal for you:
Instead of losing $7-8m a year, how about we shoot for just 1/2 that loss and see where that gets us?

The defenders of women’s sports fascinate me.
Should they be around - sure let them play.
Should they be funded at ridiculously high levels and allowed to operate at a $7-8m deficit? No, not it should not.

And even less people give a shite about college baseball outside of a handful of schools .

If not the great CKM, I want our WBB coach being absolute bargain basement salary.
That sport just eats money.

Just because you dont like or dont watch womens basketball dont assume others feel the same way.
I can almost picture you standing in the kitchen wearing that white, wife beater tank top with the mustard stains eating the drumbstick as you typed that shite post.

It really is insane how a historically above average program (since 2000) in Men's basketball has always just completely out monied a good to great program like Woman's basketball (since 2000)
The numbers aren't even remotely close. Hell I bet McMahon turned a profit a few years here

I don't believe in making WBB worse to make Baseball better. Baseball can generate the revenue., Reprice the tickets at 2X's existing price. People will buy the tickets.

Absolutely correct. End all dei now.

MM turned about a 1 - 2 million profit despite his best efforts. If we kept him it would have been razor close

How much money the program makes depends on its share of the SEC television contract. That is why basketball made money despite the small number of paying customers as compared to baseball and women’s basketball. We are not in this for the money.

Baseball tickets even doubled would still have every single season ticket allotment gobbled up.
They could try to raise the price of WBB tickets but then I’d imagine they might lose more once they have the pmac looking like MM had it.
It was silly that fat Scott planted the university flag on being good at WBB while he torched football and MBB
