For a normal person like me, would I just have to wait for their shares to trade on the secondary market with Vanguard or Fidelity?
Is there any way to get anywhere close to the IPO price?

If I understand correctly you can get some ownership of it right now by buying shares of the XOVR etf.

1) I understand things often cool down in the first few weeks after initial excitement of IPOs.
2) I see people being super pessimistic about this one on social media. I don’t know enough to figure out if that is based on hating Elon or actual reason.
3) I think buying is limited to institutional investors and very high net worth indicators so I think people like you and me have to wait until it hits the market or buy into companies that already have large stakes in the SpaceX.

You can buy the Ark venture fund. It is a bunch of private companies for the most part. . The top holding is SpaceX at 17%. Next is OpenAI at 12%

XOVR Is 10% spaceX. The rest is high growth tech.

The other date to look for is when the the lockup expires. Usually 6 months after IPO. This is the date shareholders of record at the IPO can sell their shares.

The valuation is going to be so insane.
$1.5T.
There doesn’t seem that there will be alot of meat on the bone for retail in this.
It’s not like you would be getting NVDA in 1999 or something.

SpaceX is statistically the majority of the Space industry valuation at this point, with Boeing and other smaller space stocks making up the remaining. But the space industry will become absolutely massive long term, and that’s the bet with SpaceX. You’re just buying the clear leader with significant MOAT in a rapidly expanding industry that has actually limitless size potential

They aren’t IPOing to get funding, they’re IPOing to let long time employees cash out

Exactly.
In order to see significant returns - and I mean significant life changing $$- retail has to believe that SpaceX:
1)turn a profit
2) the valuation to increase to figures that are in the 10s - 100s of TRILLION DOLLARS

Schmid Group. $SHMD. Rumored to be a customer of SpaceX

SpaceX targeting $2T valuation now

Gonna be a wild ride. Ha. Nasdaq infrastructure better be prepared.

I predict a crypto level rug pull. It’s bad enough they packaged SpaceX with the AI stuff and an overly ambitious narrative for star link. But, there’s also rumors the IPO specifically removes any lockup period.

The play may be to look at other space-adjacent companies who are already public. Space-X will probably reset valuations for some of those companies at least for the short term.
At least that's what I heard from the twitter-sphere and admittedly have done zero research on it. It does make sense though.

So space X may have a valuation of 2 trillion with 2025 revenue of 16 billion.
Amazon has market cap of 2.38 trillion with 2025 revenue of $716.9 billion.
Somebody explain that to me.
