Your Astros lead the majors in runs scored, doubles, second in walks.
Has the curse of Cintriker been lifted?

It is obvious there is a conscious effort in the org and the lineup to take and see more pitches. Altuve demonstratively doing so to set the tone should be the obvious tell on that I think. Will it stick in June and July? One of the biggest positives so far for me is how good Walker looks

Been fun to watch the last 4 days. Today will be a good test.
Walker has been hitting the ball hard. Wondering if the oblique injury he had in ST last year affected him through the year and/or caused some bad habits.
Of course, it’s not as if he had hitting coaches that could have noticed something and pointed it out, or anything.

Tuve had a quote to Julia expressing that after Monday nights game.
Something along the lines we are hunting a particular pitch each at bat and if we don’t get it we aren’t taking a pass. The K numbers in the spring were concerning but evidently they wanted to use that time to really track pitches because the walks were up too in spring. If the sluggers keep slugging should be a good recipe for this group. Of course this will lead to deeper counts, which will probably lead to K’s being up, but heck it’ll get whoever is dominating them out of the game sooner hopefully

Altuve has 7 walks in 25 ABs. Last year it took him 120 ABs to reach 7 walks

Are we actually seeing a whole field approach paying off?
It seems we are definitely hitting it harder and controlling the plate more. If can just stay consistent with it, it might be a fun year on the hitting side rather than being well below league average in every category.

This was the cornerstone of the offensive approach during the golden years. I am glad they are trying to re-visit it.

You really cannot make this shite up. Dana Brown says Peña will be in the lineup today. Lineup card comes out. Peña is not in the lineup. These assholes are never on the same page. Get them both out of my ball club

Healthy Yordan and a competent CW completely changes our offense

I've now seen Burrows pitch 3 times. I'm not terribly excited about him.
