Giving shout out to LSU Men's track & field ranked #1. Women's track & field ranked #1.

I'm confused.... Is the track team ranked number 1 in both Mens/Womens or are they ranked #1 in 2 Relays?

I could have sworn I read on here a month or two ago that the track team was a shell of what it once was.

I think they’re just ranked #1 in specific events

Both men and women teams ranked #1. There are some individual events with #1 ranking, Men have #1 4x400, and Women have #1 4x100. Also, there are a bunch of individuals both sides ranked #1 nationally. We have 14 individuals on both sides ranked in top 5 nationally. We are loaded this year. Potential for 2 national championships.

Read this announcement as "We are Ranked No.1 so much as everyone else has not started competing yet. We will slide, but this is a good measurement of where we are today"
Track program is still a shell of itself, but we have some pieces in places we haven't had in a while, so we should be better. My guess is this is probably a top 15ish roster. Which would be good. Hoping that now we've gotten the big sports out of the way, Verge and team can put money into the best, historically, team we have on campus. (relax before you keyboard warriors start to say why track isn't the best sport on campus...i'm biased)

Tech has 2 young billionaire alums who want ALL sports to be relevant and compete for championships. It started with softball and expanded to other sports

To their credit, TTU did get good/relevant pre-NIL. I believe the won the team championship in 2019 or so.
