LSU offense will be cutting edge. I can list on one hand seasons in my lifetime

Seasons that LSU was on the cutting edge of modern offense
1. 2019 obviously
2. 2023
3 2001 Rohan to the always open Reed
4. 2006
questionable
5. 2007
Honorable mention
2020 The few Brennan games
That's all I've got. Maybe some of the Hodson years, but I was too young to know what was else was going on around CFB.
I don't know that '06 was as much scheme as it was a 1st round QB and receivers. Same with 2023. It was really Jayden Daniels creating and some fantastic receivers.
2007 Wizard's offense was interesting but not sure how to classify it.
We are entering a completely different era from anything we've seen in the last 50 years, and I'm pretty confident that holds true much, much farther back.
It's going to be amazing to watch the P&G running a balanced, smart, unpredictable, cutting edge offense. any year that the defense is top 30 should mean a potentially deep playoff run.

And just think if we can get our defense just a bit better, which is very possible, and get back to a top 10 defense.

As far as scheme, 2019 then 2007 were the most unique at the major college level.
2023 was schemed well for the quarterback we had, but there wasn't too much revolutionary design, just a lot of basic RPO concepts that we ran over and over because no one could stop Daniels.

How many times have we heard "LSU is going to have a good defense. Watch out if they ever get a good offense."

It felt like we were cutting edge in 2013 when Mett threw for 3k

I was coming to mention that offense was well. 3k passer, 1k rusher, and two 1k receivers. It was pro-style, but pro-style at it's best.

It was a basic pro-style offense that happened to have a cannon arm QB, Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and Jeremy Hill and a good OL.
Without those parts, that offense doesn't run like that. I wouldn't call it cutting edge, just extremely talented.
ETA:
2019, while absurdly talented, was also very, very creative and novel to some extent in college football. They had some awesome plays drawn e.g. CEH touchdown at end of first half at Bama.
2023 wasn't super creative, we just had a freak at QB that absolutely couldn't be stopped because of his legs keeping the defense on tilt every play.
2019 is the most "cutting edge" to me.

Take it one more step further with the lame corporate lingo
*bleeding edge offense, market disruptor!

Mett was 27th in passing yards per game.
We weren’t cutting edge. We ran PA and deep balls to 2 NFL WRS.

top 10 defense
Schedule is WAY to difficult to even consider that. Top 30 defense with our schedule is more than acceptable.

If we have a top 30 defense and win the turnover battle, we'll be in the playoffs.
I know there will be growing pains for Kiffin's offense, but it's going to be talented and will score points. If it protects the ball fairly well and our defense is as stated above, we'll be very good.

Can’t recall the exact year, but Herb Tyler led an LSU offense that averaged around 35/game if I recall. Problem was we had Lou Tepper coaching D and couldn’t stop anyone.

‘98…most agonizing season I’ve ever experienced as a Tiger fan…so many what ifs that year. Lost to UGA 27-28, KY 36-39, Ole Miss 31-37(OT), Notre Dame 36-39 and Bama 16-22. Got blown out by Mississippi State and Arkansas along the way. Finished 4-7…the beginning of the end for Duhnardo.

Up until Saban morphed his offense at Bama (which he had Kiffin do incidently) the major players had two stud RB's, and a QB that threw for 225 and 2 TDs a game.
Somewhere after the LSU/Bama 2011 season Bama started moving to more emphasis on the passing game. LSU and Miles did not. There were contenders that were doing the same thing and pushing the issue. Urban at UF is one that comes to mind
2011 was the last time 2 big ground and pound teams squared up when it meant something.
