Glad he is backing away from that. Let the rest of the world deal with that. Middle East needs to learn to police themselves anyways.

Finish figuring out what to do with preventing a nuke, then walk away from this Iran situation satisfied.

The rest is not our problem.

This is a complete 180 from what Trump was saying just "two weeks" ago. Its amazing how MAGA will conform or contort to anything Trump says.

This would be an epic fail if we don't clean up the straight before leaving.

Yup.

Europe will be paying a steep price for not assisting in this.

It’ll be alright. It’s close to max pain now. It will start to settle lower in the coming months.

Couldn’t agree more at this point. Let Europe feel it in full.

That’s far from guaranteed if Iran continues to control the Strait.

Markets are assuming the worst now. Any improvements such as increased production elsewhere will lower prices.

Most give Trump the benefit of the doubt because the world isn't static. What is the right decision this week may not be next week. He is the only person getting all the information required to make an informed decision.

I dont like foreign wars at all but I do think he felt justified in this whole ordeal due to information I have no access too. I have to accept that since I know he has no interest in prolonged conflicts.

Plans change. If Iran's control of the Strait is such a clear threat, then obviously it would benefit the world to remove their control. Our European "allies" should be glad to help.

The US has committed 188 billion dollars to Ukraine under the guise of protecting Europe from Russian expansion. All of Europe has committed 200 billion. We made their problem our problem.

Now, when we ask for them to return the favor, they tell us that it is our problem alone. Our allies are only our allies when it benefits them. So frick'em

This stems from the now wrong goal that Israel / US would have hit Iran hard enough in the first days of this way that the Iran regime would have fallen by now and wouldnt have the ability to hold the Strait.

you dont "ask" your military partners to join a bombing campaign with no end date... with only weeks to prepare.

Successfully opening the strait takes months of preparation to get everything right.

This becomes its own problem for our economy, though

We need rich countries to buy our expensive exports

The POTUS has said so many different things that there’s no telling what will happen. The Iranians heads must be spinning with confusion. DJT is one unpredictable guy. He loves to troll our enemies…. dems, msm, and Iranians.

If we cannot guarantee the security interest of the gulf states and leave them in this situation with a pissed off Iran then they will likely reconsider the petro dollar agreement. That would be our problem...and a significant one.
