What exactly would the frogs do about it if we flew our military aircraft in their airspace?

They want to cut their own deal.
This isn’t any different than Michel Jobert at the WEC in 1974. France and other European nations are looking for an off-ramp in an oil crisis that once again involves Israel and the United States.
The only difference is that we only had backchannel talks about using force back then. We just kicked the hornets nest without letting anyone know we were going to this time.

France is already a frying pan of hot grease since they imported millions upon millions of subs to replace their own people. Worry about it getting worse is not a distant thing as France is already under attack

I agree but the money we are spending on their defense should be put into massive amounts of drones and anti drone\missile systems.
And this has shown how important Greenland really is.
