the Savannah city council also approved a controversial move that addressed firearms in unlocked vehicles.
quote:

Mayor Van Johnson and Savannah’s city council voted unanimously in 2024 to outlaw keeping firearms in unlocked vehicles, with maximum penalties of a $1,000 fine and 30 days in jail.

That's a damn shame right there. It's stupid to leave your gun in your vehicle but you shouldn't go to jail because someone else broke the law to steal it.

Here's the other stupid part
quote:

'We know that these firearms are being stolen to defend public safety,' Mayor Johnson said, noting that in just one year the city has seen a nearly 40 percent decline in firearms being stolen from unlocked vehicles.

Does this genius mayor think that 40% less are stolen or that people stopped saying they were stolen.

Stolen by the methheads to defend public safety, or in the vehicles of the owners who carry in the interest of public safety ?

The Mayor's syntax is hot garbage.

Astute consideration of inherent behavioral bias.

There’s a massive trend that I can’t speak about here because it might hurt people’s feelings and I’ll get banned. But it’s a very noticeable trend.

“amazing to me how stupid fricking liberal white women will literally die to support this way of life”(quote CAD)).

It’s the nurturing/mothering gene run amuck, C. Many of these people have no personal love in their life, and love is a form of life energy. They take their instincts and intuition (Mercy) to a moral level in conscience as well, therein the political activist crusade narrative. Our beloved Cubbies is a perfect example.

Their intent and “heart” is good, but we know what Scripture says about “the heart “.

Bottom line: “Grace is measured “ and Mercy must come with qualifiers. Especially if one’s freedom negatively impacts their peers.

I'm pretty sure Savannah has had that element of people for many years.

We were down there right after Covid. Plenty of homeless, druggies walking around back then too.

I love Savannah, have vacationed there five times. The historic district that is, which has always been like an oasis, I understand that outside the historic district and to some extent the Victorian district is territory that decent folks have zero business in if they value their lives and property.

But the last time we were there, the marijuana smell was constant and intense to the point where you risked a contact high just stepping outside.

Plus SCAD … the big art college … seemed to be voraciously absorbing the historic district which is the centerpiece of the tourism industry there.

The article from the Daily Mail wasn’t clear, are the zombies invading the squares in the historic district? If that’s the case … you used to only see them on River Street … then the tourism industry that grew up after the book and the movie will be destroyed. And I wonder why the movers and shakers in tourism are letting that happen.

The problem isn’t that we have a bunch of black mayors and leaders in city government.

The problem is that almost all of them are dumb as shite.
