Entered the stock market in 1985, a robust year end close at 1,500. I think we can weather this moment.

Gas prices are great here in Hammond.

Not our fault California sucks. Maybe they should start blaming Newscum instead of OMB.

market != economy

The market was already bouncing off the rev limiter due to the AI hype. Even the burger flippers at McDs have been talking about a bubble.

That said Trump and his admin deserve to be ridiculed since they were saying the market = economy. "DOW is at 50k!!1" lol

Since the GFC there has been only two or three years where GDP growth (as a whole number) was larger than the deficit for that same year. Prior to that, going back to at least 1984 (because that's as far back as I went), there was only one year when that was so.

In other words, ever since Obama's horrible handling of the GFC we have made GDP more and more addicted to government deficit spending. This started with a Democrat-controlled Oval Office and House, continued through the GOP controlling the House and then controlling both the House and the Oval Office, then Democrats winning back the House and then the Oval Office again, then the GOP re-gaining the House again and now also the Oval Office.

There is no getting out of this without pain (and lots of it), no matter how many "adults and moderates" show up.

What we currently have is a road bump.
