Would the OKC Thunder lose to most college teams if they played 4 on 5?

I know this is silly hypothetical but Hoosiers got me thinking about it in the scene where they play with 4 guys.

And there was a college game a few years ago when a team had to play 4 on 5 for awhile and it was competitive for a little bit.

But I think the man advantage in basketball is so great that there’s no way OKC would win the NCAA tourney playing 4 on 5. I think they’d lose to the first top 20 team they played

They’d still get to use their whole team but it’s playing 4 on 5 for a full 40 minute full court normal game

They shoot way better than any college team… I think they could win the tournament 4 on 5

If Dort gets officiated like he does in the NBA they'd win 2 on 5.

College Collin Sexton almost beat a team while going 3 on 5 or some nonsense for an extended period of time. I think Shai, Jalen, Chet and Caruso would win the NCCA Tournament rather easily tbh.

Hartenstein
Chet
Jalen
SGA

No college team could shoot the same FG% those pros could. The right one might be able to trade 3s with 2s and beat the zone.

If SGA can’t stand feeding Harteinstein and Chet all game, replace him with someone else. He may be the least important player of the 4, but you’d want the skillset if he bought in.

They would pretty easily win the tournament 4v5.

Also are we using the college 3PT line since it's the NCAAT? They'd never miss.

That was against Minnesota in 2017. Alabama was down, like, 15 and had to go 3-on-5 for over 10 minutes. Cut the lead to three and ended up losing by 5. Sexton had 40. Bizarre game. I sort of remember it.

OKC 4-on-5 is more likely to absolutely wipe most college teams than lose to them.

you people are absolutely fricking retarded. any team with 5 guards/forwards capable of handling the ball would absolutely torch them. not only is it a free 4 on 5 fast break every play, which will completely wear down the defense having to run non-stop to keep up with the off man, but the free'd up defender will regularly get stops via steals on double teams or playing passing lanes

Every shot OKC takes is going to be contested whereas the college team will have an uncovered player every possession

The 3 on 5 starts about 10 minutes in. Minnesota’s coach didn’t really know what to do to take advantage. They could have easily played 4 on 3 defense and left 1 guy cherry picking but didn’t.

Yea OKC has no idea how to handle a college double team or guard a fast break with a numbers disadvantage. SGA and Jaylin can’t hit a contested jumper to save their life.

OKC never plays with five players, there's always at least two refs playing for them.

This is like when people were asking if Bama could beat the browns of course a college team has no shot

What percent are they hitting on contested jumpers vs the eFG% of a typical 5 on 4? How often do they turn it over when faced with a double team where all their teammates are also actively defended in tight man?

This question is so dumb it’s almost as if it was conceived solely with the intention of drawing attention to/discussion about the NBA
