The U.S. Justice Department reached a financial settlement with President Donald Trump’s ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn on Wednesday in the $50 million lawsuit he brought against the government. Flynn claimed in his 2023 lawsuit that the FBI and federal prosecutors orchestrated a political witch hunt against him during its investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Lawyers for both Flynn and the DOJ said the lawsuit would be dropped in return for “settlement funds,” according to a brief court filing in district court in Tampa, Florida.

Flynn admitted to making false statements to the FBI about having conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in 2016 and agreed to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russian probe, but Flynn later withdrew that plea. He said the government had made a “bad faith” case against him that was built on “vindictiveness.”

The Justice Department moved to dismiss the case against him in 2020 while under the leadership of then-Attorney General William Barr. Flynn was later pardoned by Trump in 2020.

“Trump has repeatedly defended Flynn as an ‘innocent man’ who was unfairly targeted by rogue FBI officials during their investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, which the president has long derided as a ‘hoax’ that was designed to undermine his presidency,” CBS News reported on Wednesday.

How could he have been wrongfully prosecuted? The law officers of SlowProMullah said Lawfare is a made up conspiracy theory.

According to 1 half of my legal dream team anytime someone "settles in court" it almost always only 5 thousand dollars or so.

They threatened to go after his son. So Flynn agreed to plead guilty. Those prosecutors were awful.

This is the quandary I posed in your thread last night, correct?

Do you see the larger play here?

Should our government tell us what they settle lawsuits for? I can't think of a legitimate reason that is not public information.

Whatever it is - it's not enough without several heads on a pike and dozens of others in prison & their dependents losing all inheritance to make up for any costs incurred by Flynn and his dependents.

There needs to be CONSEQUENCEs for these lawfare warriors who have been preying on political opponents for over a decade, making their lives unbearable and their families fearful of the future.

Heads need to roll.

They're regurgitating the theories of Kash's girlfriend, who somehow thinks Flynn is conspiring with Aleksandr Dugin to overthrow Trump, because he's somehow a Senior Advisor of Catholics for Catholics. So now the MAGA base is regurgitating the same kind of Russian collusion arguments the left has thrown at Trump for a decade. And there's only one reason why they're targeting Flynn and everyone knows why.

If Strzok and Page can get a combined $2 million then Flynn should get at least 3-5 times that amount.
