Of All People, Johnny Depp Imparts Some Truth About Phony Hollywood

Maybe I'm late to the party, but I've never heard him talk like this before. It's a short clip, but he talks about having no use for Hollywood. He says a lot of people would like to be themselves, but they can't. As I like to say, they have to publicly cling to the hive mentality that exists inside the Hollywood Bubble.

I think you're right. It isn't just streaming that has crippled them. I saw where Ryan Gosling said that it isn't up to the people to save the theaters. It's up to Hollywood to make better, more entertaining films.

Maybe he will return to his Kentucky roots. He is from Owensboro. His mom used to live on a farm between Lexington and Versailles. I worked with his cousin who is a structural engineer.
Johnny has said some of his happiest times were working with his Uncle in Owensboro.

I know. That's one thing that made me surprised to hear him knock Hollywood. I figured he was just one more compliant little puppet like DeNiro and Clooney.
