Coming into town Friday through Sunday. Foods we like:
Poboys--
Great breakfast--
Great gumbo--
Fried seafood platters--
Great fish
Fried Chicken

Give me your best--non touristy, but not crazy high-end.

We are in town to gamble, eat, and drink. Land Friday morning at 8:30 and don't fly home until Sunday night at 9:30 p.m.

If you get tired of cajun/creole, try Shaya's.

The fried chicken hummus is incredible.

Staying at Caesars. Don't shoot me for this, but Friday's plan so far:

Crabby Jack's on the way from airport to Caesars.
Deanie's tomorrow night.

Walk Bourbon Street during the day tomorrow and end up at Lafitte's.

Saturday and Sunday are wide open.

Why are you taking Jefferson highway to downtown?

Deanie’s will be slammed on Friday during Lent.. Just be prepared for a minimum 45 minute wait. Have beers. Relax. You’ll be glad you went.
Stanley in Jackson Square is another great choice for breakfast. Their fried soft shell crab is excellent.

If you want to explore the Quarter a bit, walk from Canal Street to Esplanade on Decatur, Royal or Bourbon.. and Port of Call is on Esplanade and Dauphine.. they have burgers and baked potatoes, excellent jukebox, killer vibes and a dirty kitchen but the Neptune Monsoons will cure any hangover and get you rollin again..

Oceana is widely ridiculed by critics.

Brennan’s breakfast costs a fortune. It’s a splurge if that’s what you want.

This guy eats! Solid list. I would add Clancy’s to the first group.

Russell’s Marina is out of your way, but has fantastic breakfast.

This old gray mare ain’t what she used to be, but their Monsoon’s are great, and the juke box is legendary.
