Anyone who thinks it wouldn’t have been better than this timeline to just honor JCPOA & revisit negotiations when terms neared expiration is either completely delusional or just blindly loyal to Trump.
The messaging on this has been so bad. They’d have been better off claiming they did this for the Iranian people / best opportunity to topple the regime from the jump.
