Numerous reasons, starting with we’re not putting up Walmart money. Second, Self’s health issues are concerning. Hope for his sake, he’s back at full speed.

Sampson should be the #1 target. I do believe he’s done all he can do at Houston, and it’s a natural transition to LSU.

Not sure that Houston isn’t a better job at this point. Their big money boosters are actually invested into basketball, they have better arena and facilities than we currently do and they’re in a better basketball conference. Brand matters sure but the investment and time it would take isn’t done overnight.

Same thing that's happened to a lot of coaches that were winning pre NIL. Doesn't have the funds to get the players he used to get or his school is unwilling to play high stakes poker.

LSU couldn’t possibly offer him something better than his current contract.
Furthermore, since 2022 he has shown he can’t construct/manage a roster with mostly new players to the point of them being elite/playing to their ability.
