I would have no coming into the season, but if she keeps losing in the SEC at this rate, maybe so. 1-6 in SEC play right now.

I’m as critical as they come but how was it a bad loss? Top 25 team on the road and lose by 1in the 11th doesn’t qualify as a bad loss. In fact, every game they have loss is to a top 25 team per the broadcast last night, zero bad losses! The fact is the two players that they counted on haven’t performed to the level or close to the level they expected. The other issue, all but one of the top averages are transfers or a kid that walked on, the recruiting was horrific under Leftwich and it’s showing now. Three of the top 4 pitchers are transfers, a program rises or falls on recruiting not development and LSU is struggling because of poor recruiting and the lack of production from the two AA players. Actually , softball and baseball are very similar THIS yr, the transfers in baseball have for the most part haven’t performed at the level as players that transferred in previously, the portal is a 50/50 crap shoot

It’s going to be tough for them to get back to .500 in the sec

Time ran out on Beth five years ago. But rest assured, nothing will happen until her contract is up and maybe not even then. Don’t be surprised if she is renewed.

It’s softball. If she has any sort of buyout give her unlimited time.

It would be except that we have more important things to spend our buyout money on.

I see a lot of fundamental flaws in this team and the teams of the past. LSU is a flagship university and will always attract talent. I feel that it’s obvious that she lacks some coaching acumen and hasn’t shown the ability to improve in many areas. I see her team not hit the cutoff player on a play to home where it’s obvious there is no play at the plate, allowing the runner to move to second and get into scoring position. I have seen her leave pitchers in longer than she needs to. I have seen outfielders take poor routes to balls in the air. This just seems to be a poorly coached team and I have felt that way with teams of the past. I just feel like teams in the past had more talent and her lack of coaching skills were hidden by the teams overall talent.

They need to win at least one at South carolina. Oklahoma is next weekend, then they get Missouri away.

They don't have the mindset to beat Oklahoma (even if Oklahoma is not as good as they were the last 10 years). And, Missouri is not good, but it is an away series. And, they don't have the mind set to win an away series.

So, if you think 1 - 6 is bad, just wait. That's why I predicted them starting 3 - 12 in the SEC before ending 8 - 16 (even though that sounds optimistic now)

Each game, I hope I'm wrong then the game ends as usual.

Good observations, but they did lose to UCF I believe. Maybe they are ranked now, but they weren't ranked at the time. I guess that is there only "bad" loss.

Im sure they practice cuts and relays , every team does, agree about leaving pitchers in too long, usually takes them out 1 inning too late. What seems to be lacking in the program is consequences, the same players that don’t produce and make critical mistakes still go out there the next day. What that tells me is either the players run the show or there is no one else, either is really really bad

Someone in another post said 2028.

The decline continues. After the embarrassing loss to Southeastern at home in the regionals last year, she guaranteed that LSU would “never lose a regional at home again”. Obviously her solution is to just not be good enough to host a regional. She took over a program that was top 3 or 4 in the conference and now struggles to even finish in the top half.
She needs to go.

most argue she shoulda been fired 2 or 3 years ago. LSU gives zero fricks about softball anymore.

Yeah I don’t know, I didn’t research that just going by what the girl on tv said. UCF is RPI 25 so not really a bad loss in that sense. What would this team look like if Bergeron and Edwards were producing at or near last yr level? The best players gotta play the best to be good and they simply aren’t right now

Come on man, Beth has been to more WS than all but a hand full of coaches in the country, she created these expectations by going to 4 WS! The program has regressed yes however 2 elite classes are coming in with players really recruited by the top teams in the country, these aren’t propped up daddy ball players they are recruited by Texas, Florida,UCLA, A&M, OU, Tennessee and others. She should get the remainder of her contract then let’s see where the program is unless you want to pay a 1 mil buyout and 600-700k for a new coach

huge fall off from 2017. if you cannot win it all with hoover and allie for 3 years idk what to tell you. had some greats in bell, jaquish, landry, andrews. nothing to show for it.

she is a good coach and she wins...... just not what fans expect for getting paid well over 400k a damn year! div 1 ball is tough and SEC is real tough. We know. WE get it. that is no excuse when you make that much.

never won SEC or SEC tourney. LSu put money into some facilities but they do not seem to care about excellence in other areas.

Agree about the fall off but to get a Walton, White or a coach like that they would laugh at 400k, try 700-1 mil..let’s see in 2028, if it’s still bad the contract is up and costs us zero

IF LSU wants to win BIg they need to invest BIG in the program. see lane kiffin and the NIL budget. simple as that. she's done nothing lately. this guy has. This year will make 9 years straight with no WCWS appearance. With the mens BB issues all this shite gets pushed to the back burner and buys her more time. softball makes no money anyway. Only football and mens BB do. I do not think she is going anywhere. LSU does not care.
