DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- A suspect has been arrested for the assault of a crossing guard in Darby Borough, Delaware County.
The incident occurred shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Monday during dismissal outside Walnut Street Elementary School as students looked on.
According to police, the guard told detectives that Russell had been driving aggressively as she helped students cross the street and that she ordered him to stop.
Court records say Russell then parked his car, chased her down and hit her, knocking her unconscious.
Court documents state that Philadelphia police stopped Russell's 2009 gold Nissan Altima on Wednesday, but two women - not Russell - were inside.
One woman told detectives that Russell had fled to South Carolina.
"As soon as the crime was solved, they showed and wanted their $5,000, and they will get their $5,000," Williams said.
Authorities say the victim suffered both physical and emotional injuries but is recovering.
She has chosen to remain anonymous and has resigned from her position as a crossing guard.

Just what in the hell could a female crossing guard do that would incite a grown man to have enough anger to pull a car over, get out, chase her down and violently hit her in the face.
Hopefully this POS is prosecuted to the fullest extent and is not let off lightly by another POS judge or DA.

Because he’s short tempered, violent, and stupid. That’s the worst combination. Her yelling “slow down” is enough to set him off.
I won’t even honk at cars in certain parts of Louisiana.

We need to just remove people like this from society. Don't talk to me about second chances, this isn't some accident. He got out of his car and ran over to a female crossing guard to beat her up.

He punched a black crossing guard. A black state senator who is very connected politically put up the $5000 reward. This clown is actually going to do some time.
The state senator spent $5000 to prove he is "tough on crime" during his next election. He is probably gearing up for a future congressional run. His political cronies in the DA's office and on the judicial bench will see that happens. Guaranteed the guy is staring down the barrel of at least 10 years.
