This makes no sense.

No sir. I'm on Team McMahon-- The Return Of The Mac-- I feel it in my bones--2026-27 is the breakthrough year for the Mac Brigade, leaving all the 3-16 campaigns in the dustbin of history

Sadly, there is almost nothing -- save for a 5-2 regular season-ending stretch in 2023-24 in which 3 of the 5 victories were by 1 point -- to suggest that a breakthrough season under the current coach is going to happen next season. To put that into context, he got 5 of his 17 SEC regular-season victories during that stretch and 9 of his 17 SEC regular-season victories during that stretch. He has just 8 SEC regular-season victories in his other 3 seasons combined.

Didnt you pay attention during the football hire?

First we find a coach, then we fire a coach, then we make sure we can fire him, bring in the governor, make sure we have a booster to pay buyouts, then we go back and forth with the new coach, then we let him and the staff coach a little longer at current school. then we get the governor involved again, then hire the new coach. then we try to get out of buyout of previous coach. Then we sign a top class.

We won't fire him if Wade decides to stay at NCState. It will be at least a few days or even after the tournament before Wade decides on what to do.

We will just have to be patient.

And just like that, tarzana proves to everyone that it's still retarded.

I'd be surprised if there isn't some sort of clarity within the next few days. The seasons are over for both LSU and NC State. From NC State's perspective they will want to know ASAP if Wade intends to leave because they will want to start a coaching search quickly knowing the most likely mid-major candidates will be hired for major conf. jobs next week.

From Wade's perspective he's not going to do nothing for the next 2-3 weeks waiting on LSU. He will want to start working the backchannels to build next year's NC State roster...or LSU roster, depending on where he goes.

McMahon is going to want to know something too so he can get to work building LSU's roster/staff for next season or start considering future plans. Of course, it is possible he already knows and there just hasn't been a public statement by LSU one way or the other. But it would be unlikely LSU would continue to let speculation run rampant if it has already decided to retain McMahon.

Not until William of House Wade walks back into BB Ops and usurps McBoring to take back the Iron Throne of Baton Rouge.

And then sends all you crybabies to the Wall to join the Night’s Watch.
