Dems and Independents - why fiscally conservative only about Israel?

I don’t shill for Israel, never have.
I don’t love their influence on America either, just getting that out of the way.
All that said, I’ve seen liberals and typical independent types freaking out about the money sent to Israel and the cost of our operation in Iran.
We spend most likely a trillion in fraud each year. Maybe some factor of trillions. Lots of it in welfare, Medicaid/medicare, HUD, SS, etc.
The Ukraine grift was far more egregious than the money we send to Israel and our Iran operations this year.
I don’t understand this logic.
If you’re concerned with money, be fiscally conservative across the board on all things.
The money to Israel just seems like small potatoes compared to the absolute raping of our budget by fraud each year. The outrage simply seems misdirected.

Some people have become supper obsessed by it. Their entire belief system and world view is shaped by it and it all happened very quickly. Being critical and opened minded is great, but it’s getting very weird very quickly.

quote:Because it doesn't exist. The problem with this war has little to do with cost. Anyway, we all supported things like the DOGE cuts, but Congress is full of worthless crooked shitbags who did nothing when they had the chance.
I don’t understand this logic.
So even if cost was the main factor, it's not like we don't support it in the areas you mention. The people with the power to make those changes simply refuse to.
Your strawman sucks.

The bumper sticker answer to your question is that everyone is an opportunistic hypocrite in modern politics. And that’s not entirely false.
The voters are starting to emulate their politicians & talking heads.
The more serious answer is that this admin (very effectively) dangled some red meat on Medicaid & USAID, but holistically their budget was always absurd as any before it.
These people genuinely do not give AF about the working class & I’d almost prefer they just up and admit it rather than campaign on lies.

I simply don’t care about Iran.

It is still ongoing.

None should get a pass.

Israel is just a convenient excuse for being anti Trump, nothing more. One day it’s the Jews, the next day it’s he isn’t deporting enough people, then it’s he isn’t America first. The common denominator for all of them is Trump, nothing more. He has hurt their feelings so much that they have turned to the Democrats. How pathetic is that? Lol

I am. I am for no foreign aid.
Who is pro-fraud? What happened to DOGE?

“Likely a trillion on fraud? I’m sure you must have some data to support that assertion.

Now, the range is ~$250-550 billion annually.
$1 trillion lost to fraud every 2 years or every 4, take your pick.
No matter which side of the range you pick, that is unacceptable and should be burned out with force.

The Republicans refused to implement any of the cuts in the budget but you clearly already knew that but you will long for the days of Trump under Gavin, no worries keep the faith!

I’m an independent, 0 party affiliation.
If I did the budget, it would be gutted to the bone.
Stop lumping unaffiliated voters in with your parties. Just because someone doesn’t completely agree with you, it doesn’t make them an enemy.

I'm an independent and fiscally conservative about everything.
I just accept the things I cannot change. I cannot change that Congress rapes us, cheats us and refuses to listen to us. I cannot change that they're continuing to use my taxpayer dollars to fill the slush fund that pays off their sexual assault victims, but they won't pass a simple legislation to secure elections that is an 80/20 issue.
I cannot change these things, or control them. I don't even believe my vote matters any more, and that I'm all but completely disillusioned with this farce that we call "politics". What I can control, is how I react to these things. And I trust that there's a purpose to it all, to whatever end.
Congress sucks. And we can't vote them out of a system they have built to keep themselves "in". I can't even vote to oust JD Lankford in my own state because the Republican Primary is closed. Bunch of egomaniacal crooks.
