Guessing for 1 year vet minimum here. Nice guy to take a flyer on as he has potential but hasn't been able to do anything with it.

He’s a poor man’s Allegier. I always liked him

Had a game 1 knee injury put on IR till December which is why his numbers are so low for 25.

LOL rich comment coming from you. going after Lester is a choice

Once again, tell me where I’m wrong? One is a third down speed back. Allgeier is a slow bruiser that weighs 20-25 pounds more.

lets all argue about a guy i hope doesn't even make the roster.

Both are one cut, between the tackle RBs. Chandler tested fast but is not a “speed back”. Go watch the tape

Gives a little more flexibility in the draft. Even after signing Etienne, we were probably gonna have to take a flyer on a RB somewhere in Rounds 4-6. We still might if one is there we like at good value. But this prevents us from having to reach when a BPA at a position that’s already a relative strength might be there.
I’m really interested to see how much of an opportunity Miller gets in OTAs and training camp. Still love his traits, but they may have already basically given up on him due to him always being hurt. He could dominate in practice, but can you really count on him being your #3, even if he enters Week 1 fully healthy?
And count me as one that thinks AK plays a ton out of the slot this year. May have more catches than rushes. They need to add talent to that room however they can, and see who sticks. I like this signing, even if he doesn’t wind up on the roster.

Kamara I thought looked just fine in Kubiak's system a few years ago but then of course everybody started getting hurt including him.
it really it seems like the last time they really had a one-two punch was with when it was him and Ingram.
I know Alvin's gotten older but I would say not having that other true threat back there has affected him also.

it doesn't matter what I say, or really anyone else here says to refute you - you "think" you are smarter than everyone else here and better, when in reality you are just a smug bastard that thinks way to highly of herself.

Ty Chandler 5-11, 205 lbs) is a speed-threat running back (4.38-second 40-yard dash) who frequently acts as a change-of-pace option and pass-catcher out of the backfield. Recently signed by the New Orleans Saints, he provides depth and special teams value, having recorded 30 receptions for 212 yards over 40 NFL games. New Orleans Saints | NewOrleansSaints.com New Orleans Saints | NewOrleansSaints.com +3 Key Attributes as a Third-Down/Pass-Catching Back: Receiving Ability: Chandler has demonstrated ability as a receiver, including a career-best 21 catches in 2023. Speed: Known for his 4.38-speed, which makes him a threat to break big plays in passing situations. Versatility: In addition to receiving, he has experience with kickoff returns and provides depth as a third-down alternative, according to this article from NewOrleans.Football.
So he’s not a speed back when he runs a 4.3 40 and he’s not a 3rd down back even though I’ve seen him used that way in Minny years ago. Guess I’m wrong, the above stats are wrong, AI is wrong and whoever wrote the article about Chandler is wrong.
And he’s similar to Allgeier even though he’s one of the slower backs in the nfl, outweighs him by 20-25 pounds, and usually comes off the field on third downs for Bijan. Got it, I can see the similarities now…

Years ago as in 2023 where he had most of his stats in 4 starts while Mattison was out? Or 2024 where he had all of 6 targets and 56 rushes in 17 games? Or maybe 2022 or 2025 where he only played 3 games each season?
We never really got to see this guy in much of any role outside of him needing to start those 4 games.

you reckon this more of a depth piece at RB with probably more of a regular role as a returner on special teams?
given the injury issues the Saints have had at RB recently, I don't mind it, but Shaheed has been gone and so need a kickoff and punt return man, no?
