Got invited to sit courtside for a MBB game. Host said the McMahon family sits next to us. Brought son-in-law. 1st half I sat next to sister-in-law and her husband, the coach's brother. Pleasant conversations.

2nd half, I sat next to our host and son in law next to the sister-in-law. Tigers were competitive till midway 2nd half then getting blown out. With 2 minutes to go, I said to son in law that we would leave at the next break.

As soon as I said that the sister-in-law of the head coach for your fighting tigers said---Can You Take Me with You.!!!!

I am a season ticket holder since 1986. 40 years. I would like Wade back but if that cannot happen, we still must have a change.

If LSU administration does not care about the quality of the program, then neither will I. I will not renew my season tickets as I am sure hundreds of others will do the same.
The PMAC will look like a morgue.

Let the administration know of your non-renewal if a change isn’t made.

If they really bring him back next season, I’m 100% done. It would signal to me a complete apathetic tone at the top. Why would I waste my time?

Even if nobody shows up the program will still turn a small profit

You’ve had season tickets for 40 years and now you’re not going to renew?
That’s pretty weird.
It’s not like they’ve ever been a dominant program. You seen a lot of mediocre to terrible basketball and that 41st year is where you draw the line?

This place is the best.

It’s more like it is starting to become insulting to the fans. The excuse after last season was hogwash but I must admit, pretty masterfully done by Woody because it made the average fan go “Huh? Yeah what if the spend is increased?”

Holding on to McMahon after the season we’ve just had goes beyond a slap in the face to the fans.

The 40 year season ticket holder is tired of not having their loyalty being appreciated on a literal insanity definition playing out. I don’t blame them one bit for leaving.

There's never been a 4 year stretch this dire. And in the hypothetical scenario, the administration is perfectly ok with that.

I'm right there with him. I have had season tickets myself or though my dad for 50 years.

I have stuck it out through the Trent Johnson and Johnny Jones years and now the McMahon disaster.

Why is it so hard to understand? It's not "pretty weird". If you had been a long-time supporter, perhaps you would understand. He and I and many others have finally reached the end of the road, so to speak. If the LSU admin doesn't make a change, it shows complete lack of interest in providing a quality basketball program. Yes, we have seen a lot of mediocre and terrible basketball over the years, but we have also seen a lot of quality and SEC championship basketball over the years and know what the program is capable of with the right leadership.

I would normally agree with you on these things, but show me a worse 2 year strech than these last four in the last 40 years, show me a worse 4-year stretch ever, for that matter.

Though I doubt I would give up my long-term tickets unless I was already leaning that way, regardless of the performance.

It was not complete hogwash; LSU is lagging most other SEC schools in basketball spending by most accounts. But it was not the sole problem, maybe not the main one. We have a great guy coaching our team who is in over his head and needs to be replaced, even if some people feel bad about moving on from him

It looked like a hospice facility this year. People who loved the patient showed up to say goodbye, but only a few at a time.

The PMORGUE already looks like a MORGUE.

If there's no WW hire, then who in the LSUAD takes on the role of Eddie Nunez that will go out there and find another WW clone?

There are good HC's to be had, but doubt if Ausberry can do that.

Bringing back McHallman is unacceptable!

There's never been a point in those 40 years where the mood surrounding the program has been this apathetic. From 86-93 LSU was an annual tournament participant. While it may be hard to believe, the school and town of BR used to love LSU basketball. The Deaf Dome was routinely rocking. That meant there was enough residual goodwill built in to keep some level of support from 94-97 when it fell apart for Brown, and even 98-99 in the early days of Brady. Then, Brady had the 99-00 season where he won the SEC. Brady, while NEVER consistent at LSU, he had enough decent seasons to keep people interested. Johnson came in and in year one won the SEC. Again, that was enough to keep support afloat even though he was terrible in years 2 and 3. Perhaps that support was going to die after year 4 of Johnson, but with a new coach came at least some (even if small) hope for better results. Jones did produce better results. While he never hit the Brown highs, LSU at least had moments. But then once that finally collapsed LSU quickly made a change. Wade came in and started to build back the support and interest.

McMahon has been awful from literally season 1 and unlike Brady, Johnson or Jones, he's never had even one good, let alone great season. Yet, unlike with those three coaches, the administration has never been willing to let the program wallow at the bottom for so long as it is now. Another year of MM would be the admin telling the fans through actions, not words, they literally don't care about the results or product on the court. So if that is the attitude of the administration then why should the fans care? And why would the fans have any hope for better when the administration would have shown they have no desire to make things better?

Fans canceling their season tickets would just be making a smart financial decision. LSU hasn't come close to selling out a game in the last two years. Anyone who does want to attend can easily get a ticket WELL below face value and sit in one of the hundreds of empty seats in the lower levels. Why pay an average of $50 - $65 for a ticket when you could, in essence, get the EXACT same seat for less than $10?

The program will never recover if McMahon is brought back.

Fair enough. I would say the “timing” of the excuse was hogwash

Yeah. The hogwash was that it was the only reason LSU wasn't competitive. The timing was to cover for them bringing McMahon back because of money.

It already does. The fact there hasn’t been a change today is maddening.
