What a terrible decision. Only 2 Ks and 4.1 innings and 71 pitches….you ride the horse for 100 pitches easy. This is more important than the MLB and all that money shite

Max in this round is 95, but they limited him to 75 to protect his real job.

Well if the hole clubs have no contro, these guys don’t show up at all

So either you accept Skenes with a pitch count or don’t see him throw one

It’s actually crazy that you can’t comprehend why he’s on a pitch count

I read it’s more the for the health of pitchers. Even early season games they don’t go long. Supposedly studies are showing it’s best to let them build up through the season. I’m actually surprised they let him go even 70

The Pirates put a pitch count on Skenes bc they don’t want him to get hurt so they can go 62-100 this season.

If this was being played in Nov, yes. But it’s early. Most of these guys would be on limited innings and simulated starts for spring training.

You think pitchers are going 100 pitches in spring training?

It's an exhibition tournament for which he gets paid nothing. The Pirates are his employer and they pay him to pitch for them. Be grateful he's made 2 WBC starts.

I feel like every year in April in MLB we see a starter go 6 hitless and they still pull him, pulling Skenes tonight was the right move for HIM.

As it has turned out, the bullpen had been better than Skenes was tonight too.
