I know this is specific to the law makers, but I have been saying this for years.
IF Democrats got their way and could take your guns, they will not be going after the violent criminals to get their guns. They will go to the red states in the suburbs and start there. Their foot soldiers will keep their weapons so they can terrorize you.
This is just a microcosm of that line of thinking.

Northern Virginia ruined it for the rest of the state. Hundreds of thousands of people live there whose livelihood is entirely (directly or indirectly) on the Levithan that is dependent upon the expansion and increased power of FedGov.
Add that to the foreigners that have been contractors for FedGov for long enough to get green cards and citizenship, and that ship has sunk.

If we are to believe Dems are about to sweep congress, I couldn't care less what happens with these states. Apparently more learning is needed.

All the more reason why our federal departments ought to be scattered throat the nation. With the advent of internet, there is no real 'requirement' they need to be able to walk from one to the other.
Also, centering the departments in the areas of that Dept's interest would get them closer to the 'real requirements rather than having to rely on 'experts' to tell them what "the folks" think.
It would spread out the lobbying interests - etc - etc

They did in the context of education. I don't believe it addressed government contract set -asides. Trump issued and executive order eliminating them on the federal level.
