Trying to be rational, here...

I have a hard time believing this team is as bad as they look. How do you go from looking like they did the first 8 games to looking like they have in 10 of the last 11 games when the level of competition does not appear to have changed much? These guys didn't just, all of a sudden, forget how to play baseball! Man, this has got to be frickin' driving CJJ absolutely crazy!

Don't buy that. The teams they have lost too are not particularly better than the teams they beat the first 8 games. They're just not! There is something else going on.

Its possible they played their seasons best and peaked the first 2 weeks. It was mentioned during that stretch that they are peaking too early, but no one wanted to hear that then. Its also possible theyve just gone in the tank for awhile. This is their first road series, those are always tough when you dont test yourself before conference

Those first eight games were all northern teams with very little real game action. They all beat themselves with errors and walks. The UCF game we just happen to get on a Sunday when they had no pitching left. But yes we are better than this. We will lose a lot of close ones with this defense giving up several runs a game. But pitching will get better and a little more consistent.

This team reminds me of 2024, they were below 500 in SEC play and were getting good at the end of the season. Should have won the UNC regional.
Hopefully they get it figured out a little earlier then week 6 of sec play

Baseball IS damn weird.
Feels like it’s already been forgotten, but before last year’s team swept the Supers and CWS they were 3 innings from being eliminated at home by Little Rock.
