We running it Back with Matt Mcmahon

And we are all going to deal with it because we are all poor and don’t have an actual say in anything.
Just get over it. If any of us ranters actually had money enough to do anything about it, then we would buy out Mcmahon’s contract and call it a day, but we don’t. So we come here and complain but that means nothing. We are all poor and don’t make decisions. You canceling your season tickets won’t change anything. That’s just the way it is.
Down vote away but that is the reality.

Drizz's $5k didn’t move the needle?
I may not watch any basketball next year

if they do, all tickets next season should be free and first come first serve

He is a McMoron for sure. Whether he is correct or incorrect will not move that needle.

Here's what WILL change:
-- Season ticket requests will decrease, which means less attention given to corporate sponsors which means less ROI on sponsorships
-- Attendance will drop below 50 percent of PMAC capacity
-- Those donors with money won't pony up because they haven't gotten ROI or don't see a way to get ROI
-- Assistant coaches on expiring contracts this season could be reluctant to return next year knowing they'll have to look for a job after another subpar season
-- Replacement assistants could be reluctant to sign knowing they could be here only a year
-- Players could be reluctant to sign without decent NIL money; those currently on the team could leave for perceived greener pastures
-- In essence, 2026-27 becomes a lame-duck season with a lame-duck coach, lame-duck assistants and lame-duck players

You have no idea what the reality is

It’s amazing how much enjoyment Jim takes in a bottom dweller MBB program at LSU. Real LSU fan, this guy. Still wish Chicken would install an ignore feature, then I would at least be oblivious to how many times Jim randomly inserts my name into a post for a thread I wasn’t even participating.

I did not enjoy this season. I haven’t watched a game since January. Caught the end of Ole Miss & A&M games once I saw it was OT

That’s gonna boost your credibility

At the time I thought Trent Johnson was as low as this program could go. I owe him and Johnny Jones an apology. Matt Mcmahon is the single worst, dullest and lackluster coach to ever be at LSU and that includes Curley Hallman.

What a McLoser take on the current situation

He’s not an LSU fan, we know this.

Its actually quite impressive that he would come back despite the entire fanbase wanting him to pack his shite and leave. Takes some balls

You know I think his time here is over. But before the kentucky game i decided to watch the action instead of watching the individual players or watching the ball. I quickly realized that MM isn't really that bad of a coach. His system consistently generates open looks and forces mismatches. His best players usually end up with the ball in a good spot against a defender they should be able to beat.
I don't know if he is a bad talent evaluator. I don't know if he's bad at developing the talent. I don't know if he just wasn't given the resources to bring in the talent that was needed. I don't know if it was all of those things. But I do know that his problem isn't his understanding of basketball or teaching it to the players. They made the right reads and got the ball to the right places on the court. They just can't finish at the level of the teams they play against. Ultimately, that's still on McMahon so he should be gone either way.

If we truly cannot afford to field a competitive men's basketball team, then we do not belong in the SEC. Everyone else in the conference can do so while still spending tremendous sums on football.

Unfortunately some of the $ men think the same

Scoring was ok this season, but defending and rebounding were an abomination and he refuses to adjust during a game.

If this happens, they should make the entire season free for spectators. Also, they should encourage MM to bring on walk-ons, students, alums, whatever. Absolutely ZERO NIL money should be spent, and they should cancel traveling to other schools and forfeit each road game to save money.

You watched it this year? And the year before? How do people waste their time with this?
