I’ve always felt like there’s a neutral accent in Baton Rouge compared with other southern cities.

I think it’s from having LSU and maybe a lot of transplants for petrochemical plants. Someone from Baton Rouge doesn’t sound like someone from GA, AL or the Carolinas.

How is Indiana considered neutral?

They’ve got more of an accent than half the list.

It definitely exists, it effectively destroyed my yat accent in my 8 years or so in BR. So much so that when I tell people where im from (Chalmette), they always say "oh wow you dont sound like a retarded Brooklyn person"

The MS Delta and South Alabama have slight variations on the Southern Accent.

The Delta is more foghorn leghorn, and South Bama is just different, white and black folks down there sound the same.

This is stupid, the only one of these that might be considered sexy is #1. The rest are annoying.
