Danica Mckellar has.

quote:

“The Wonder Years” star, who has 15-year-old son with ex-husband Mike Verta, recalled the moment she ate a piece of her placenta after giving birth, comparing it to "the best filet mignon.”

Was offered it at the hospital after our firstborn, apparently there are some other cultures who make a soup out of it

I heard a crazy rumor once of some woman who apparently cooked it up with scrambled eggs.

But, no, I've never tasted it, me. At least, not that I'm aware.

As Jules would say from pulp fiction...

Placenta may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'd never know 'cause I wouldn't eat the filthy motherfricker.

While there are multiple parts of Danica McKellar I’d like to taste, her placenta ain’t one of them.

Herd animals in the wild will synchronize their births so predators are too busy hoovering up the placentas (which are extremely nutrient rich) to worry about going after the easy picking newborn calves. After a week or so they are still vulnerable but there's a safety in numbers angle.

That was the umbilical cord, baw.
