Man I used to love this place. Brought my daughter and wife Saturday night after soccer.

Had the rudest waitress, who looked like the Maryland crab restaurant thief. It was weird, but we played it off because we did not want our food spit on

Other tables with the waitress were shrugging and grinning, like “yeah we get it too”

But anyway, there were lots of empty tables and a long wait because they didnt have enough staff (an indictment on management). This was the night of an LSU baseball game (which they didnt have the channel for) and even LSU basketball

Just a shame that it used to be cool

Living on past name recognition only. That murder suicide in the middle of the dining room in 2011 alone would turn me off, not to mention the food.

waiting tables can suck. It can be tough and fast paced and tiring. I have no idea why some people would self sabotage their tips by having a pissy attitude. When I waited tables there were days that I didnt want to be there but I faked it and acted like I was happy to serve the customers.

It's the worst when you go out to eat and your server has a shitty attitude.

As a kid in the 90s, going there for a birthday dinner was next level.

Truly amazing they were able to bring it down to the level is it at now.

Baton Rouge is truly one of a kind.

Also, she added an 18% tip to the bill.

Not that I would have stiffed her, but I thought it was funny

She seemed mentally ill tbh (I am saying this more from a pity standpoint), and would have expected violence if we stiffed her anyway

They won’t even have that going for them next year because the show is moving to Gordon’s place on Burbank.

The margarita special didn't help them. It changed the clientele which directly affected the quality of servers.

I havent been in well over 6 months, but there are a few dishes that they do well.

Their pork chop and steak is cooked the same way at Ruth Chris. Both are very good.

And while it's not BBQ, I do like their "grilled" ribs and sauce. It's not for everyone. And it's certainly not what you'll find in Texas.

Lastly, their smoked and flash fried wings with sauce on the side, are some of the best in the city.

The clientele has most definitely changed over the last few decades. One that doesn't spend a lot of money, nor exactly tip the server's well. That eventually takes down any restaurant.

I remember going there with my dad in the early/mid 90's felt like a really big deal (for us at least). It was cool to see all of the old LSU memorabilia, and often times you see a local legend former LSU athlete eating lunch or dinner. Now, I can't remember the last time I've been. It has to be at least 5 years...maybe more.

It’s a tired concept and tired building. The clientele has dropped off for whatever reason. I still like the babybacks and wings, but not going out of my way to get some. Not sure what thy can do. Actually liked the Seigen location better.
