No. We weren’t playing well. We know. Y’all need to save your melts for when the season ends without going to Omaha. That’s the standard. If we fall short it’s appropriate to be pissed.

We looked a lot worse for much of 2024 and by the end of the season we were still 3 outs away from hosting a super regional and likely would have made it back to Omaha.

I don't think he was melting.
I think he was pointing out that baseball is a game that humbles even the best.
It is the hardest of the three major sports to overcome the other team with talent alone, so big-time upsets in a single game are not rare or even uncommon.

at this point in time, LSU has only 3 players that could start for SS or probably any good team. SS is a good team.

Not sure how many would make the roster but none were recruited by Jay and LSU. We have a large talent gap over every team we have played this year, but we think we can just show up and win.
We are a bad defensive team with a weak bullpen and can’t hit breaking balls.
The portal was not kind to us and we are at best a middle of the pack sec team.
