Im going to be there for about a week to a week and a half. Looking for some spots for lunches and dinners. No real preference, open for pretty much any kind of cuisine.

in no particular order

Benteaux
Jeanie’s
Yellow bird
Tacos and beer
Tommy’s
Cena
Streetside Market
Lee’s

Those are all downtown or downtown-ish.
And if you are there on a Saturday morning the farmers market is great

Add The Steakhouse to the lists above. The pork chop is one of the best I've ever had and the steaks are up there with Ruth's Cris.

Any chance there's an old school diner for breakfast? Or a good place to get breakfast?

One Thirteen and Lighthouse are both really good, especially if the weather is nice.

I like Benteaux but be prepared to smell like the restaurant for the rest of the day.

ETA: Le Saigon is really solid as well.

For breakfast Jeanie’s yellow bird or lee’s. Also you can be in ponchatoula in 5 minutes there’s Nola Mia pizza, roux & brew, etc

it’s called “the steak house”. Food is very good but very expensive we don’t eat there much.

Hi ho has a very underrated breakfast

Also when I worked the road, university donuts had a good breakfast. Lee's used to have a breakfast but I may be remembering that wrong. Annettes country kitchen has a good breakfast too

In Ponchatoula, add The District to your list. Very solid.

we eat at the district pretty often but only about 1/3 of the menu is anything other than slathered with a cream sauce or fried which I enjoy less and less as I get older. The burger however is the best in the area and they make excellent cocktails

Haven't seen Blackened Brew mentioned. A bit on the pricy side but has been good every time we've gone in the last year or two.

Thats surprising to me. Never heard anyone complain about it. I can get behind complaining about price or the fact that it tries to be overly instagramable. Both spaces are so well done though to take advantage of a pretty weather day. The food quality is much higher than most of the other places in Hammond. Maybe the best burger ive ever had at One Thirteen. Service is always good to, manager constantly checking in on us.
