If you like spicy, Hot Tails in Prairieville.
Everywhere else I've tried, they've been bland and boring.
I guess the restaurants have to appeal to the gray hair crowds.

If the food trailer is still at Perkins and Acadian, those were legit also.
ETA: It's called Crawfish on the Geaux

Runner ups would be Willie's or Sammy's. (meh)

Depends on where you are…

Wingin it’s are pretty good and very consistent flavor wise. Not always the biggest, but very good nonetheless.

Plus it’s a chill place if you don’t want to deal with the bigger restaurants.

If you're picking them up, then Lakeside. You can eat them there too, but it's an actual bar an not a restaurant.

Another vote for Hot Tails.

I've never cared for Willie's or Sammy's. Willie’s are always gritty and I was told all they do is spray them with a hose before boiling. Sammy’s always seems to have a lot of dead-before-boiling limp crawfish in the batch.

Montalbanos is good. I also like Louisiana Cajun Seafood on Coursey.

Crawfish on the Geaux is half arse arse at best to downright funky.
Willie’s served me the dirtiest most bland crawfish I’ve ever had.

Sammy’s, Heads and Tails if they still sell hot crawfish out of the market, and Country Corner.

Has anyone been to Sammy's Crawfish King on South Foster between Government and Capital Heights?

I've never seen it mentioned on crawfish threads.

I like is Jimbo’s seafood. He used to have his shop on coursey but I think he boils in front of his house in those heavily tree neighborhood with large lots off of Hoo Shoo Too. Very clean, rarely a dead crawfish, abd the right balance of savory, spice, and citrus. A bit more expensive.

Jimbo’s is great. Mr. David actually passed away a few months ago but his wife is running the business now. I haven’t had them since his passing but they were always good. I’m sure they will be just as good now.

I did not know that. He seemed like a good guy who enjoyed doing what he did.

I've been there many times. My son likes their boiled shrimp with their spicy sauce. The crawfish are pretty good but not sure I'd go there just for that. They do have some combination platters/trays that come with a variety of things (crawfish, crabs, shrimp, corn, eggs, etc.) that I get from time to time.
