Billy Bob Thornton went back in time and died so that Davy Crockett could live

We remember "The Alamo"
We forget "The Goliad Massacre"
The Goliad Massacre made Santa Ana the Saddam Heussein of the day.
Guys at The Alamo already knew what to expect and got to die on their own terms.

Ozzy's wife took his clothes so he wouldn't go anywhere to keep drinking, but he took one of her dresses, but it out and it eventually lead to him at the Alamo and pissing on it. He was then banned from the Alamo, but several years ago he was unbanned.

according to John Wayne the messcans, after they demanded the tessacans surrender and were rejected, played a song called "El DeGuello," meaning no quarter(literally throat cutting and beheading,) before they charged the church
ETA: the band Santa Ana hired to play that song was a little known struggling band named ZZ Top

How long was it before Crockett was executed after he was captured?
In all seriousness, the most badass thing ever said by a US politician was Crockett saying "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas."

Travis disobeyed Sam Houston's order to evacuate and join the main Texian army and got himself and everybody else killed. Undeniably brave, but a hotheaded, foolhardy amateur.
Fun fact: the backbone of Houston's army at San Jacinto were officers and NCOs from the US Second Infantry Regiment stationed across the Sabine River at Fort Jessup, who had been allowed to temporarily "resign" and join the Texians.

Wow! You learn something new every day. I was 22 back when this happened, but had never heard about it.

On February 19, 1982, Ozzy Osbourne was arrested for urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph in San Antonio, Texas, an act that sparked outrage but was later followed by apologies and reconciliation.
The Incident
On the morning of February 19, 1982, Ozzy Osbourne, reportedly intoxicated, urinated on the Alamo Cenotaph, a 60-foot monument honoring those who died in the 1836 Battle of the Alamo, mistakenly believing he was relieving himself on an old wall.
At the time, he was wearing a green evening gown belonging to his wife, Sharon Osbourne, who had hidden his clothes to prevent him from going out.
The incident occurred shortly before a concert at the San Antonio Convention Center Arena (then HemisFair Arena), where he performed later that evening.

Every person who's ever visited the Alamo ever – It was way smaller than I thought it'd be.

I had an ancestor there. Andrew Nelson from the TN. Volunteers.
He was like my super great grandmother's brother.

The Alamo actually fell in 1793 when it stopped being a Franciscan mission.
