Predict the Next Four Months.

This is what I would do over the next four months if I had a say:
1. For the remainder of the year I would start...
......Murray
......Bey
,,,,,,Murphy
......Zion
......Karlo
Reason: I want to know if Karlo can be effective when played with the starters, especially on the defensive end (he challenges at the rim and changes shots all the time). He's active (sometimes too active for his own good), but the other starters need and infusion of frontcourt 'hustle' into the lineup on the defensive end. While Herb defends at an elite level in space, his size (just like GTA) limits him at the rim. If JAX can be effective with the Lakers, Karlo could at least be serviceable with the Pelicans, and he has potential as a stretch five.
2. Package Poole and Missi for expiring contracts. We aren't going to get off of Poole's contract without sacrificing something. And, I don't want to divest ourselves of any more draft picks.
3. This one hurts. Trade Herb for the best possible return (must include at least one '26 first round pick). I believe we have something in Bryce and I am anxious to see what Peavey can bring to the table,
4. Draft the best available big man with what we get for Herb.
5. Like what we did a few years ago, with Kira, bite the bullet and get rid of Hawk. It's not that I don't think he has and NBA future, I just think he needs a change of scenery (there's too much water under the Pelicans bridge with regard to Hawkins). I view Hawk's spot on the roster as a development position and Hawk just ain't developing.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I would love to move off of Zion, but his FMV does not match our investment (to date) or, frankly, his ever-present potential.

Why? Poole will be an expiring next season..
Same with Hawk.
You will find a team at the next deadline looking to shed longer term salary that will give you a 1st or at worst 2nds to take on that salary in exchange for them. No need to package any assets with them including Missi

Point taken.
I guess I see Poole and his second highest contract on the team racking DNP after DNP as a major distraction that needs to go.
The sooner the better.

Missi is not enough incentive for someone to take on Poole's shitty contract.

So yiu want to just give away the big man we just drafted and have been developing, to trade Herb just to get a draft pick to replace Missi with?
Thank Jesus some of you are not gms, not that any of us are worse than Dumars.

There are so many ways you could go with this team. I would wait for now, but I personally think at some point a decision will have to be made between Queen and Zion. Their games don't mesh together at all and the net rating when they are on the floor together is horrible. You can't have two players that are viewed as franchise cornerstones who can't play together.
They also need to find a way to address the center position. I like some of the flashes that Missi and Matkovic have shown, but I think having a bonafide starter to put next to Queen would make a huge difference. I also think if you are able to get a true starting center then you can move one of Missi/Matkovic for shooting.

The roster will mostly be unchanged. We will have a decent record over the remainder of the season, JB will be retained, next season will go the same as the last few years.
This organization is dumb.

Pretty much agree. But I’m probably somewhat ok with keeping JB just because with no pick this year, I don’t see any coach I would really want taking the gig. And if the best we can do is Darwin Ham, let’s just keep JB and let him have an entire off season and pre season. Now if we could get a legit coach, absolutely.

Not a next 4 month.
Keep:
Trey
Fears
Queen
Bey
Deandre Jordan (vet min. Great looker room guy or make a coach)
Like but not untouchable at all:
Messi
McGowens
Peavy
Carlo
Herb
Try to move:
Poole
Zion
Murray
Let go:
Hawkins
Looney
I am not factoring contacts and all that, just what I would like if possible.
If you could only trade one of Zion or DJM, who would it be?

More of the same. Aimlessly running it back for the most part. No clear direction. Continuing to be irrelevant and garbage

Yea.. unless they find a taker for Murray and/or Poole, they really have no cap space to bring anyone of quality in. You're pretty much running it back unless they move someone with a big contract.
All you're getting is a new shite coach and another season of basketball 101.
