Why can’t Chris Blair correctly pronounce Schmidt (not “Smidt”)

Is it too much to ask that the voice of the Tigers pronounce the last name of one of your most prominent pitchers correctly? His job, quite literally, is to accurately put sports into words. Sports information creates a pronunciation guide every year. I’m sure it’s sitting next to him in the booth every game.
It’s not a complicated name. We’re now on year 2 of this inept linguistics. Listening to it is like watching John Pearson play first base. Get it together.

Better to drop the "ch" than the "m". That's really the key letter.

He's not listed in the pronunciation guide because the pronunciation of his last name is not up for debate.

I was forced to this past weekend because I didn't have the time to be able to sit in front of the tv for an extended period, but could listen while I did other things.
Will probably be in a similar situation for some of this coming weekend.

Hes on the espn+ broadcast at times. Him and doug make ronnie rantz carried by lyn tolerable
