The rest of the statement expounded on the strategy way more thoroughly.

I wonder why that tidbit specifically was quote.

I wouldn't sweat this. He said similar things in the past, then backed off.

This has more to do with donors and the midterms than anything.

It’s ok, this is nothing to worry about. Just like the refusal to release all of the unredacted Epstein files. You’re a conspiracy theorist if this bothers you.

What a stupid argument, they would protest anything republicans (especially Trump) do.

The number of deportations is far lower than I had hoped it would be and it does appear their resolve to see it through is breaking. I knew we would never 10+ million deportations but the numbers are dog shite.

They are largely people looking to better their lives. My mother's side came through Ellis Island. I'm not sure about my Dad's side to be totally open about it. With that being said...

Let them come legally or not at all. We can't have an open border.

This kind of equivocation is why the GOP has to fight so hard for fair elections.

A conservative estimate of the illegals that came in during the Biden administration is ~4 million. DHS has only deported ~350,000.

There's a long way to go.

Very disappointing. Illegal aliens by definition have violated US law. They may not be hardened criminals, but they are at best scoff-laws, and are not good people.

It's the really smart political move with the midterms coming up.

It's how the game is played.

He'll stress getting the fraudsters and hardened criminals out, the murderers and rapists and drug dealers and Somalis ... but he had to lighten up with the midterms just around the corner.

I agree.

There is a process. I can't help it if the process is hard. Making the process easy or hard is a political question. But just do it legally.
