Since the article may be behind a paywall, he has Jeremiyah Love at #4, Sonny Styles at #5, David Bailey at #7, Ruben Bain at #9, Caleb Downs at #10, Vega Ioane at #14, Kenyon Sadiq at #15, Makai Lemon at #16, and Jordyn Tyson at #24

8. New Orleans Saints: Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
Social media seems to care more than NFL teams about Tate’s 40-yard dash time — he clocked in at 4.53 seconds, although that official time has been under dispute. He averaged 32.5 yards per touchdown catch in 2025 and showed the ability to win at all three levels of the field, which is something quarterback Tyler Shough would love to see in the Saints’ offense.

Here's an SB Nation article on the Saints meeting with R Mason Thomas at the Combine

I like Tate a lot. I think he will be a better pro than Olave tbh. Maybe not as good a route runner but much better with contested catches

If we come out with Bain or Tate, I’d take that.

Tate screams WR2 all day, and we already have that (well like a 1.5) in Olave. Don't spend a top-10 pick on that caliber of prospect. You can pretty much always get vets of that quality on reasonable deals each year.

Tate would be an awful pick. Not a true #1. Love or Sonny

Love or Sonny

In Brugler's mock, both of those guys are gone by the time the Saints pick

That mock is basically a worst case scenario for us.

We'd have to roll the dice with Downs or go with Ioane

Downs' knee problems are worrisome

Ioane, fiwiw, goes at #14 in his mock

Can't see it but Tate would be a nice selection for worst case scenario.

Does Freeling go to the Browns in this? Why not post the top 10

Name them. You think Tee Higgins deal is reasonable? Watch what Pierce and Shaheed get paid. At worse, he’s becomes that same tier player as Higgins. And you gonna be paying Olave 30 million a year. 5 years on a rookie contract to pair with Olave makes a ton of sense to have a one and two locked down the next 5 years with Shough.

Yeah “always” getting WR vets on reasonable deals seems like nonsense, there won’t be enough out there for everyone

I dont see us getting one of the top elite players with love and styles moving up and Bain and Fanus arms being short. this WR class doesn't impress me to grab one in the top 10.

like chad said, but trade down and take the TE. He can sub as a WR in situational packages. Kid is talented and if we get another pick or 2 thats what we need.

this is only if Downs medical really is a concern.
