Viktor Orban is getting desperate and about to bite off more than he can chew

If tweet fails to load, click here. His party is trailing the opposition party by 12% in the latest independent polls for the April parliamentary elections. This making him threaten to use military force against Ukraine to force Ukraine to allow Russian oil to flow through the Friendship pipeline. Using military force against Ukraine will also allow him to cancel the elections. Ukraine's military is engaged with Russia but it has plenty of reserves to deal with Hungary who will not be able to envoke Article 5 if it is the aggressor nation.

What other options do they have? Reminds me of Germany and their glut of natgas from Russia when that came to an end.
Sucks they have to depend on the Friendship Pipeline but it's awful nice of Ukraine to withhold the flow

BUDAPEST, March 5 (Reuters) - Hungary will force neighbouring Ukraine with "political and financial tools" to reopen the key Druzhba pipeline carrying Russian oil ?to Hungarian refineries, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on ?Thursday.
Flows of Russian oil through the Druzhba to Hungary and Slovakia via Ukraine have been suspended since late January when Kyiv says the pipeline was ?seriously damaged by a fire after a Russian attack.
Hungary and ?Slovakia, the only European Union countries still importing Russian oil, ?have accused Ukraine of deliberately delaying the resumption of oil flows ?for political reasons. Kyiv says the pipeline cannot be repaired quickly.
"I ?would like to make clear that we will win, and we will win with force," Orban told a business conference.
"We have no military force for ?this, I can reassure everyone that this is not part of ?our plans. But we have political and financial tools," he said, without elaborating.

Hungary's entire defense force consists of 41,000 active personnel and 20,000 reserve personnel. Hungary would probably get its shite pushed in if tried to attack Ukraine and force them to open the pipeline.

Whatever you think of Orban the alternative is a globalist EU type.
If Orban is replaced it’ll be with some EU/WEF puppet who will open up Hungary to all the immigration garbage that’s destroyed the rest of Europe.

The Hilton in Buda on Castle Hill is really nice. I stayed in a three level suite there. It’s right by Fisherman’s Bastion and some historic cathedral and has a good view of parliament across the river. The grand market is cool and if you’re into history I highly recommend the house of terror.

Orban has no chance against Ukraine. Based on open sources, Hungary only has 60,000 trained personnel available in its active and reserve forces, less than 100 tanks, 12 fighter jets, and only 8 attack helicopters. Hungary also has 0 recent fighting experience. Hungary's entire defense strategy for the past 20+ years has been for NATO to protect them. Most EU nations hate Orban and favor Ukraine so they will not come to Hungary's aid if Hungary attacks first. Meanwhile Ukraine has 900,000 active personnel and 4 million reserve personnel based on open sources. Ukraine has close to 100 fighter jets, a modern air defense system, and 4 years of recent fighting experience in all out war. It would be a bloodbath for Hungary if they tried to attack Ukraine.
With that being said this is all bluster from Orban to try and rally support since he and his party are getting their arses handed to them according to recent polling.

Yep. One of the only leaders who stands up to EU tyranny and puts his own country first. Need more like him and Milei.

You obviously have not read up on Orban's opponent. The Tisza party is against helping Ukraine and in favor of strict immigration measures. Most of the politicians in the party are former Orban supporters who have had enough of Orban and his corruption.

1. Hope your trip is not close to April 12th. If the election happens and is a free election which results in something similar to what the polls are predicted (not a guarantee by any means) then I would expect Orban and his people do not cede power easily. If the election is cancelled or Orban wins they will be massive protests. Either result will ruin a vacation.
2. Where are you headed? I am going to Budapest this summer.

Do the Hungarian people really want a Muslim Hungary?
Surprising given all that we see in the rest of Europe.
I find it hard to believe.

I guess you are unaware that the party that is currently leading in the polls opposes migration as well. A country does not have be to pro-Russia and anti-EU like Hungary to be against immigration. Look at Poland for example.
