Was watching American Pie last night for the first time in a hot minute. The scene in question happens right after Heather (Mena Suvari) asks Oz (Chris Klein) to the prom.

Stifler (seriously?) proceeds to drop one of the funniest scenes in the whole movie:

I died laughing. First time I saw it was on vhs at the house. I must have rewinded that scene thirty times. So, older me was like, holy shite is that actually a High C he hits? So I decided to do a little research.

Turns out, no. He did not. It was dubbed in after the fact. The note is a closer to a G over High C. It is a note usually only hit by highly trained FEMALE sopranos. It is physically impossible for a typical untrained male baritone to produce that sound naturally.

And holy shite I died even more after learning that. Stifler hits a note she can’t hit WHILE making fun of her. But he can’t hit it either. At least not in the real world. That’s how great the writing was for his character. Just pure poetry lol.

I love this board. Just my way of giving back. Hope y’all appreciate the silliness…

O, and for your troubles:

Stifler is truly one of the great characters of all time. I think he only made $5K for the 1st movie.

I love in the same vein when Heather catches them doing something inappropriate and Oz says "Steve, how can you be so insensitive?". Stifler looks at both of them, clearly understands what it would mean to play along, and then says WHHHHHAT?

And he totally writes an entire sonnet in his head he’s thinking so much. It’s just masterful acting and writing.

It tears me apart that we’ll probably never get another American Pie film ever again. But the truth is that even if they did make another one with the original cast, it probably wouldn’t sell well among today’s movie audience. Just goes to show that comedy is a dead genre now.

Leave it to the two Georgia fans to keep bringing us back to the section referring to a G

Those movies still hold up. Stiffler is definitely in the Hall of Fame.
