Southern Living says it’s a “southern” thing. I’ve never heard of it, me.

White bread, mayo, and sliced canned pineapple.

I’m actually intrigued enough to maybe try it. Just wondering if anyone else has.

not the pineapple rings, but when i was a kid, my mom would occasionally mix drained, crushed pineapple with cream cheese and make sandwiches with it...no idea how she came up with that, but it was actually pretty good

My 89 year-old FIL eats pineapple w/ mayo on white bread. He also eats pickle sandwiches. Never appealed to me.

I had a friend several years ago that always talked about this- his family had them at every function. I couldn’t imagine it being any good, so he brought some to one of our parties. It was better than I thought it would be, but not something I would ever make on my own.

I recently read that when McDonald’s was looking for a lent alternative, it came down to fish or a grilled pineapple sandwich. The filet-o-fish won out.

I always have pineapple around the house, just in case.

I had someone serve tea sandwiches that were cream cheese, pineapple and thin cucumber. They were pretty good.

My mom did that but I wouldn’t touch it

we usually alternated this and tuna sandwiches on fridays during lent, so it served the purpose...not something i've ever made for myself, but it wasn't bad...and you didn't refuse to eat whatever my mom fixed
