Louisiana Sports HOFer Will Clapp

Will carved out a nice NFL career, especially for a guy who most thought would not even make the league.

They were speculating on WWL yesterday that he might be in line for a position on the Saints coaching staff.

When you talk about a guy absolutely maximizing his ability to make a career for himself Clapp is THE example. What a great example for OL to follow, he'd make a great OL coach one day. Saw the pics he put out yesterday with his wife and child, that man has them KW type calves!

Sad the Saints will no longer have the Clapp!

Met will this Mardi Gras. Awesome guy and I reminded him of his TD against Ole Miss and he said it was an accident

I wouldn't be surprised if he went into staff positions with Saints or even helping out at LSU for a few years before he takes on an OL coach position somewhere. Your centers tend to be the smartest players and often some great coaches down the road.

he will announce today that he'll be a saints coach

He played for 7 years, so according to the NFL's pension plan, at age 55 he'll start collecting $7K per month

iirc Nick Underhill or maybe Will on one of the 104.5 espn shows was saying he had been filling a teaching role this past season after his injury. Now that jahri evans has moved on to the Steelers, this opens up a offensive/OL assistant role.
