If we're being honest: 2026 will always have an asterisk next to it since Russia was excluded from the games.

They're arguably the strongest country when it comes to hockey.

Russia has some fantastic young talent, and legendary older players.

Comparing the team overall to Canada is disingenuous

I may not know puck, but you really don’t know puck.

Are you Russian?

Now we're pretending that Russia isn't historically one of the best countries for hockey

Any evidence to back this up currently in 2026? As of lately, I think they’ve been ranked below Canada & Finland

If you really want to send shockwaves throughout the planet..win the fifa world cup this summer. Hockey is too much of a niche sport that most people dont care about. But winning the biggest event on the planet would make the 1980 gold medal look like child's play

They were when they had grown men who weren't allowed to play in the NHL playing against college kids.

Maybe if you’re watching Miracle.

Canada has the most gold medals all time and US has the 2nd most. Russias only gold in Olympics was in 2018 and they weren’t even representing Russia so technically Russia has never even won Gold at the Olympics.
