What would they have to do to make it worth paying for their product? They obviously have to charge something to make a little money from it but what would be a more reasonable price?

Just let the bigger networks do it!

I’d imagine that would probably cost them more to put it on a bigger network than it would be for them to stream it themselves or have a cheaper service do that

Their bulk price is $7.50 per tournament, so piecemealing it out by tournament should probably be $10.

People could still buy all the tournaments if they want to, but forcing everyone to buy everything is where I have the biggest issue. Especially when you're selling it on the access to all the games but they overlap every day.

Which bigger network did D1 Baseball outbid to host these?

I'll give you a hint, they didn't outbid anyone.

But I bet you that SECN would have streamed it with not problem. At least the LSU games. If you can't find anyone worth a shite to stream it. Don't have the "tournament" and let the teams play where they may.

If they were contractually obligated to, like they are for home games at SEC parks, sure. But since they aren't already contractually obligated to, they have no interest in doing so.

I would tell him that if he wants to the help the game of college baseball continue to grow and gain viewers he'd broadcast these games for free. It's early season right after NFL/College Football and before March Madness and MLB. Outside the Olympics this year there's not much sports on TV. You have good teams going up against other good teams they wouldn't normally play in the regular season. It's the perfect opportunity to get college baseball some exposure but he locks it behind a paywall, which is sad.

Only gripe is having to cast the game on a TV from a mobile device.

The price should decrease daily or have the option to buy on a per game/team basis.

If the game yesterday cost $10, I probably would’ve bought it.

A per game option should absolutely be available.

Concentrate more on making your product better, rather than focusing on eliminating competition.

Make it free with a monthly or discounted annual subscription to D1Baseball.

Better resolution and more user friendly platform. Though in their defense, it seems like this year they outsourced all production and troubleshooting, likely because they were tired of trying to deal with this stuff in-house.

eta: Basically, focus on building a wider user base instead of a quick buck.

What would you have paid for the Friday and Saturday games?

I'd be curious if he could increase his profits with lower prices. If he made it $10 instead of $30, he might get 3 times the number of subscribers. Especially from LSU fans (which I'm 100% sure is his cash crop for these tournaments). I'd love it if he did something like $10 for a team specific team, $20 for a full tournament, and $30 for all peak events tournaments. It would also be cool if it either came with 2 months free of D1 baseball content, or have a discount for those who are already subscribed to D1. They have good stuff, they're just so dang expensive for what they are.

One of the most annoying things about this weekend was the fact that there were no graphics for anything. No player stats, no pitch velocity, hell I don't think they even had graphic that showed the players heigh/weight/position/hometown.

I get these are small things but they are nice to have and add to the presentation.

This, end of story.

D1 is charging what they have to even make it worthwhile for them. People would still be pissed if it was $15 or $10 for the weekend, because its just more money to watch a few games (on top of WORSe quality) on top of the stuff we all already pay for to watch all the other games across the whole season.

It's not D1's fault, it's just really anti-consumer the way its setup where someone like them are swooping in to get media rights then have to charge what they have to to even put that on.

Ahh. When you put it that way a per game option makes sense so that’s what I would tell KR.

Also get a production crew that knows how to run a baseball game would be the other thing I would tell him.
