Are we still on the "considered" line?

It’s amazing that people still won’t acknowledge what wade did and how it impacted the program.
LSU basketball would be in a better spot today if Wade never stopped foot on campus

quote:Ridiculous. LSU was 2-16 SEC the season prior to Wade and 2-16 SEC the season after Wade. Wade never won less than 8 SEC games in any season. 4 years later, with the season nearing an end, LSU is again sitting at 2 SEC wins and hasn’t sniffed the NCAAT.

The program lost 1 scholarship for 2 years, which expired 2 years ago. And that’s in the NIL Portal era. That was the NCAA “hammer”.

And we are in last place in the SEC right now

Are we still on the "considered" line?

And you blame that on Wade? Alleva and Woodward are the ones who screwed up the handling of the investigation. (Pretty sure Tate had his hand in it as well). Wade is exactly the kind of coach needed at LSU to reignite the fan base. I happen to believe that we are much closer to him returning than anyone knows. I am not in the conversations that are happening but I do know there are conversations among key players. Whether it works out in the end- who knows. But I’d give it much better than even odds at this point. Let’s call it “mutual interest.” If it doesn’t work out look for a hire that is the opposite of McMahon. Someone with personality and some life. Oh- and someone who can bring a team to the field of 64 on a regular basis.

Just saying we would be in better position if Wade would have not come here. Not sure how you can argue. Would we be in more last place?

There’s not a single vestige of Wade’s tenure here that remains. Invoking his name when discussing this team’s results is ludicrous. Obviously there’s no further down you can be than “last place” but I don’t think that’s making the point you think it is.

What hardships has McMahon faced at LSU that have caused us to be historically bad? He had virtually no sanctions to deal with, and he’s coaching a sport where you only need about 8 players to be competitive. He’s had 4 years to put together a winning roster, and he’s a miserable failure. With NIL and the transfer portal, there’s no excuse to be non competitive in your second season, much less your fourth. He might be a nice guy, but he’s been a train wreck as a coach at LSU.

Think about it. We could let the gymnastics team play basketball and wouldn’t be any worse in the standings.
